At that moment, Nathan approached Celeste and Matthias with a guest in tow.
"Mr. Yoder, Ms. Rodriguez, a friend of mine would like to discuss something with the two of you. Do you have a moment?" Nathan said politely.
The man was also in the AI industry and had a solid reputation overseas. After excusing themselves from Philip, Celeste and Matthias stepped forward and shook hands with him. "Nice to meet you."
Since the man was also a client of the Lackspur family, Narcissa had no choice but to accompany them.
Although she stood beside Nathan, she never took the initiative to speak. She looked at Celeste with a faint, mocking smile, her disdain completely undisguised.
Celeste didn't spare her a glance.
Earlier, while Celeste, Matthias, Trevor, and Philip had been talking, Kieran didn't join the conversation. Now that Celeste and Matthias had stepped away, he noticed that Celeste's drink was nearly finished.
Even though he saw Narcissa standing nearby, he called over a waiter and took a fresh drink that matched Celeste's preferences. Then he walked over and handed it to her before gesturing for her empty glass.
Celeste paused for a moment. "...Thank you."
Kieran smiled gently without saying anything. He simply placed her empty glass onto the waiter's tray.
Watching the exchange, Narcissa paused and shifted her gaze to Kieran.
Kieran noticed her looking at him but said nothing, his attention remaining on Celeste.
Narcissa then walked over to him, and they stopped a few steps away from Celeste and her group.
Glancing at Celeste, who was busy talking business with someone else, Narcissa let out a derisive laugh.
"She's already got Matthias wrapped around her finger, and somehow she's still got you hopelessly hooked. I have to admit, Celeste really knows how to play people."
Kieran flicked her a glance. "Are you done?"
Narcissa smiled. "What? Upset because I criticized her?"

I think there wont be a closure anytime soon, with the speed with which the story is flowing. New characters are being introduced, sides and opinions are being formed blindly - yet no one is ever discussing anything with each other. This is by far the most frustrating novel i have read and yet, come back for an update in a hope that there may be something in reader's favor now. Sigh! There is nothing. If author doesn't want to take Celeste Trevor route, then let Celeste move on like Trevor has. Enough with this beating around the bush....

I can't even believe there are almost 800 chapters and absolutely no story line advances. Basically Trevor is absolute trash and deserves to be mocked and scorned because of his cheating nature, bringing his mistress around like he's single and flaunting the billions he spends on her as if he is not already married for 7 years. Celeste deserves everyone to know her story and be free of this loser....

Why am i reading this novel still? In what hope, seriously? To have Trevor regret his choices? To get some clarity or closure on so many gaps this novel offers? To have Shaws & Lockets ever face repercussions? To get clarity on Celeste's mother life? Because seriously, 720+ chapters gone by and from last 350 chapter - there has been no significant progress, the story has been playing around in loops. This is just sad...
