With that, Matthias supported Celeste as they headed upstairs.
Beck, Caleb, and Kieran watched them leave.
Wynn and Trevor also watched Celeste disappear upstairs.
When Celeste had gotten hurt, Wynn had happened to be looking in her direction. She had clearly seen the panic in Beck, Kieran, and Caleb as they rushed toward her.
But she knew Trevor hadn't noticed any of that.

Thinking of this, Wynn glanced at him.
To her satisfaction, Trevor had already withdrawn his gaze from Celeste and Matthias's retreating figures. Looking completely indifferent, he simply resumed chatting with the people around him.
A faint smile appeared on Wynn's lips.
Once Celeste was out of sight, Caleb also looked away.
Jorge walked over and was about to speak, but someone beat him to it and struck up a conversation with Caleb first.
Seeing that it was an old family friend of the Jennings family, Jorge had no choice but to stop himself.

Miles had been chatting with someone else and didn't see Beck rushing over the moment Celeste was injured.
Not knowing exactly what had happened, he walked over to Beck, glanced at the mess of broken glass on the floor, and then in the direction Celeste had left before asking, "What happened?"
"A child bumped into a waiter. Celeste got caught up in it and suffered a minor injury," Beck replied.
Miles wasn't particularly concerned about Celeste.
"Oh," he said with a dismissive shrug.

After being examined by a doctor, Celeste learned that she had only suffered a mild ankle sprain. It wasn't serious. Once she changed into a pair of flats, she could walk almost normally again.
After changing into a fresh dress and touching up her makeup, she and Matthias returned to the banquet downstairs.

I think there wont be a closure anytime soon, with the speed with which the story is flowing. New characters are being introduced, sides and opinions are being formed blindly - yet no one is ever discussing anything with each other. This is by far the most frustrating novel i have read and yet, come back for an update in a hope that there may be something in reader's favor now. Sigh! There is nothing. If author doesn't want to take Celeste Trevor route, then let Celeste move on like Trevor has. Enough with this beating around the bush....

I can't even believe there are almost 800 chapters and absolutely no story line advances. Basically Trevor is absolute trash and deserves to be mocked and scorned because of his cheating nature, bringing his mistress around like he's single and flaunting the billions he spends on her as if he is not already married for 7 years. Celeste deserves everyone to know her story and be free of this loser....

Why am i reading this novel still? In what hope, seriously? To have Trevor regret his choices? To get some clarity or closure on so many gaps this novel offers?
