Quentin, Jorge, and Kieran were just as shocked, their faces filled with disbelief.

Seeing the shock on Narcissa and Quentin's faces, Matthias smiled, though there was no warmth in his eyes. "Judging from how shocked the two of you look, it seems Ms. Locket never told you any of this."
Wynn really had never told them. And they had never suspected that there was such a complicated history between her and Celeste. This revelation was completely beyond anything they had expected.
Narcissa and Quentin both stared blankly at Wynn.
Matthias no longer paid them any attention. After glancing at Wynn, he turned his gaze towards Lilian, Harvey, and the others before continuing.
"Back then, Cel's grandmother and Ms. Locket's grandmother were friends. Ms. Locket's grandmother had married the wrong man and was struggling to get by, so Cel's grandmother took pity on her and her family.
"She helped them financially and even paid for both of her children's education. So, Cel's mother and Ms. Locket's mother essentially grew up together.
"Cel's grandfather had already been in poor health. His daughter's condition became the greatest pain in his life, and he passed away from grief a few years later. The family thought that would be the end of it.
"Apparently, that still wasn't enough. More than ten years ago, Ms. Locket's mother interfered in Cel's mother's marriage and drove her insane. Ten years later, Ms. Locket went and did the exact same thing."
The crowd erupted in shocked gasps.
He let out another mocking laugh. "Your family certainly has quite a collection of 'fine qualities.' Honestly, I've never seen a family as shameless as yours. You've really opened my eyes."

Somehow i am relieved today to see no updates than to be disappointed with yet another irritating show of everyone else's POV but the main characters...
I know everyone will not agree with me and I also know that Trevor is a trash and all but I want Trevor and Celeste to get back together. They should be the end game and for that to happen Trevor should start working hard for that second chance....
So we're going to go on for another 15 chapter's about jordan's temper tantrum with neither of the parents asking her what's wrong..stop milking it. The only reason i'm still reading is because i cant leave a book unfinished. What I'm pissed about is the book started with promise and turned into a circus....
The story should just come to an end and the writer should give their reader the closure they deserve. There's no point in keeping the story going. It's been the same since the start. Not has changed. The initial story plot was, that Celeste and Trevor are getting devorce and still after 800 + chapter, they are still heading for a devorce....
Don’t Shaws and Lockets reflect ever on themselves? Every difficult situation, they look forward to Wynn to ask for Trevor to help. Initially the focus of the novel was on how Wynn is so accomplished blah blah and now - she is just a useless person, incapable of anything. Irritating storyline...
I'm starting to get bored and I can't predict exactly where the story is headed....
Beck being the only actual adult to ask a child what’s wrong...
