But Trevor understood its effects and had seen through it. It seemed he hadn’t drunk the soup at all last night. Celeste hadn’t expected Martha to go this far.
She frowned, but Martha let out a dissatisfied sigh before she could speak. “Sometimes, it’s not a good thing for a grandson to be too smart. Sigh, I was hoping for another grandchild. Cel, if you have time, put in more effort with Trevor, alright?”
Celeste was speechless. She didn’t know what to say.
Even though Trevor had agreed to help her yesterday, she knew there was no future for them.
It would have been a disaster if something had happened between them last night. As for having another child, that was impossible.
Just as these thoughts crossed her mind, Jordyn came downstairs.
When she saw her, Celeste’s expression cooled slightly as she was reminded of Jordyn’s admiration and affection for Wynn.
During breakfast, Trevor once again naturally took the seat beside Celeste.
Still, neither of them initiated any conversation.
Yesterday, Celeste had taken Jordyn to school. Today, Jordyn asked Trevor to take her.
Trevor responded, “Alright.”
Martha glanced at Celeste and suggested, “Trevor, why don’t you take Cel along too? You both work at the same-
Celeste interrupted her, “No need, Grandma. He has a lot of business engagements and isn’t always at the company. It’s inconvenient for me since I don’t have a car.
Martha, however, wasn’t having it. “So what if he has engagements? If you get off work and don’t have a ride home, just call the driver ahead of time to pick you up.”
Before Celeste could argue, Martha made the final decision. “It’s settled.”
Celeste was speechless at this. She turned to Trevor, but he didn’tsay a word, which meant he had agreed.
After breakfast, Celeste had no choice but to ride with Trevor and Jordyn.
Jordyn was already familiar with getting into the car, and because both her parents were taking her today, she was in an especially good mood.
Conversely, Celeste couldn’t even remember the last time she had ridden in Trevor’s car.
Jordyn got in first, and just as Celeste was about to follow, Trevor suddenly spoke. “Sit on the other side.”
Celeste paused mid–step, feeling momentarily awkward, but she walked around the car and got in from the other side as the driver opened the door for her.
Now, Jordyn sat between her and Trevor.

Celeste kept her gaze forward, but Jordyn leaned into Trevor’s arms, peeking over his phone screen. “Oh, it’s Wynn.”
Still looking at his phone, Trevor gave a neutral–sounding bum in response.
Perhaps remembering that Celeste was present, Jordyn stale a couple of quick glances at her, then turned back to Trevor’s screen, refraining from mentioning anything about their conversation.
After a while, Jordyn got bored and climbed out of Trevor’s lap, opening the car’s storage compartment. Celeste hadn’t intended to look, but her peripheral vision happened to catch the contents inside.
There was a tube of lipstick, a small women’s handbag, and a tiny backpack that Jordyn had used before She didn’t even need to think twice. The lipstick and handbag belonged to Wynn.
At that moment, she finally understood why Trevor hadn’t let her sit on that seat when she got into the car. It was because that seat belonged to Wynn, and he wouldn’let Celeste take her place.

I just need an effing glimpse to what goes around in Trevor's mind. Author - do something about it please There is not even a single mention about what Trevor really wants - interested in Celeste? If yes, then why there is no reaction on seeing people courting Celeste...
I love the story bt really death slow... Y cant you post 5 to 10 chapters per day????...
This reads like a daily diary account...and not a story with a planned plotline. Author, we would share if you took the time to start developing the story, rather than dragging it out with outlines. no depth, no character development, not even the overused tropes are present, just a daily itinerary. We want you to do well..but you have to put the work in making it a viable story...
The storyline is moving painfully slow.. Will we ever get to hear Trevor's side of story? Currently the mixed signals from Trevor are just confusing and frustrating. He is using Jordyn to postpone the divorce and side by side ignoring Wynn to the level that he didnt invite her to the Fleming group banquet. But when asked about clarifying divorce to Jordyn, he is not doing so. Awfully frustrating...
Team beck or Caleb. Trevor has wynn saved his contact as 'babe', kissing her in office and spending nights with her. How in initial chapters Trevor pushed jordyn towards wynn without caring about a mother's feelings. Now he is two timing, suddenly interested in Celeste after knowing background and leaving wynnn behind. Spineless man. He knows cels history with her father, still chose to support them. I don't how people are rooting for cel and Trevor. I wish truth comes out. Cel deserves someone who loves her with whole heart. She thrives in her field. Beck saw cel when she was not famous. But Caleb is good option too. I hope Celeste grows spine starts to demand explaination for dragging divorce....
Author - dont you think the story has been dragged as is? Now, you want to include the angle of Wynn being pregnant as well? God, i really want to know Trevor side of story, why is he playing both sides?...
Are they going to compromise for Jordyns sake? I'll be sad for Celeste if that happens. Why is author giving mixed signals in almost every alternate chapter? Initially Trevor and Wynn were always appearing together along with huge PDA, then Trevor seems involved with Celeste - when she was under alcohol influence, then Trevor seemed to be ignoring Wynn - all the while divorce proceedings are still on and now Jordyn is getting depressed because of their situation. Feels like we are just roaming around the bush or the author is making us do that. Sigh!!...
I don't understand where this story is headed to.. I can't seem to know what Trevor is thinking, in late 500 chapters, he was seen dodging the divorce, ignoring Wynn and now at 624, he is planning on how to tell Jordyn about the divorce. This is messed up!...
