The Broken-hearted She And The Icy He (Lily and John) novel Chapter 655

Chapter 655 Cousin–in–Law

Seriously, she was growing more disgusted with her son by the second.

When he should have been protecting Lily, he was protecting someone else. Now that Lily wanted nothing to do with him, he was here pestering her. His skin was so thick, a bomb couldn’t get through it.

She’d rather have given birth to trash.

When James heard Simon mention he knew Lily liked dessert–something he didn’t know–he felt a pang of jealousy.

As a man, how could he not see what Simon was feeling for Lily?

He took a step forward, wrapped his hand tightly around Lily’s to stake his claim, and said, “Simon, if Lily likes dessert, I can buy it for her, and I can make it for her. You don’t need to worry about it. Also, show some respect. Don’t use her nickname. You will call her ‘Cousin–in- law‘!”

Cousin–inlaw…

Simon staggered, his face as pale and lifeless as a dried leaf.

Lily was his Lizzy, the one who had clung to life with him, the one who had said she wanted to marry him. How could he call her “Cousin–in–law“?

But he had to admit, Lily was now his cousin’s wife. She only had eyes for his cousin, and for him, nothing but coldness and disgust.

“Didn’t you hear your mother tell you to get out?” Jamie kicked him in disgust.

He, too, found his son utterly repulsive.

Lily clearly didn’t want to see him, yet here he was, spouting nonsense. He was more annoying than a buzzing fly.

“James is right. You will call her ‘Cousin–in–law‘ from now on. Now, get out. Lily’s return is a happy occasion. Don’t ruin the mood for everyone!”

Simon didn’t want to go. He still had so much he wanted to say to her.

But Ivan didn’t want Simon upsetting his sister–in–law. He shot a look at his second brother, and the two of them flanked Simon and forcibly dragged him out of the room.

“Lily, that brat isn’t right in the head. Don’t let him bother you.” Mary was deeply ashamed. She took Lily’s hand and said, “You don’t have to pay him any mind from now on. He’s got issues. Just treat him like he’s not even here.”

Lily despised Simon, but she was very fond of Mary. Seeing Mary’s embarrassment, she quickly reassured her, “I won’t take anything he said to heart.”

Her graciousness only made Mary like her more, and made her feel even more ashamed of her son’s foolishness. She didn’t want to spoil the mood, so she dropped the subject.

When we get back,” she thought, I’m having Jamie teach that brat a lesson. He needs to stop acting like a lunatic!

Once Simon was gone, the world seemed to become harmonious.

He knew he bore an undeniable responsibility for what happened and was completely unworthy of Adeline. Yet, a few days ago, he had used Lily as an excuse to add her as a friend, promising to update her if there was any news.

“Fine,” he thought. Everyone is trying to steal my wife today!”

“You’re really back. This is so wonderful.”

Tears streamed down Adeline’s face. When she realized she was getting Lily’s clothes wet, she pulled back, embarrassed but reluctant.

Lily felt Adeline’s tears dampen her collar. But how could she possibly mind?

She just felt incredibly warm.

Once, she had been all alone, despised by everyone. Now, so many people cared about her. She felt truly, deeply happy.

She smiled and gently wiped the tears from Adeline’s eyes. “Don’t cry. You’ll be a mess.”

Adeline laughed at that and couldn’t resist hugging her again.

Lily hugged her back. She was so lucky to have a friend like Adeline.

“You… you’re not dead?”

Marilyn, still hoping to get Holly to give her some expensive jewelry, had gone to the Lynn family villa first thing in the morning.
