Nora stared at him, her eyes fixed.
He still had the same honest, simple-looking face.
But in this moment, he seemed like a completely different person.
It was as if another personality had taken control of his body, creating a jarring disconnect with his physical appearance.
"Why?" Nora asked, her voice steady.
Ben chuckled softly. "Dr. Hayes, don't try to use your psychological tricks on me."
He stared at Nora with his dark, empty eyes.
"I won't say anything until the final performance is complete."
"Performance?"
Nora didn't get angry at Ben's words.
She tilted her head, a movement that caused the bells on her body to jingle, making her look like a beautiful, aloof porcelain doll.
An obsessive light suddenly flared in Ben's eyes.
"That's it!"
"Just like that!"
He grabbed Nora's chin, his grip tightening. "So beautiful."
Ben looked at Nora's face with near-fanatical devotion.
His grip was getting stronger, and Nora felt as though her jaw was about to be crushed.
The pain caused Nora's expression to change. Ben frowned and said harshly, "Change back!"
Nora didn't understand what he was talking about. The pain in her jaw intensified, and she clenched her teeth, her expression growing more resolute.
"Not like that!"
Ben released her chin, and his rough, scarred hands began to roughly rub her face.
Nora's skin was delicate, and under his forceful handling, it quickly became red and bruised.
"It's not supposed to be like this! Change back right now!"
Ben's mental state was clearly unstable. Nora's eyes flickered, and she tried to keep her voice as even as possible. "What do you want? You should be clear with me."
"Perhaps I can give you the reaction you're looking for."
Ben was stumped by the question.
