The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 127

“We’re about to get married and you’re telling me you want to break up? Nora, what do you take our relationship for?”

“And what do you take me for?”

“We had a small argument last time, and you sent a breakup text. I thought you were just angry and that we should both cool off so we wouldn’t damage our relationship over something trivial. But you actually thought we were broken up?”

“You’ve been planning this for a while, haven’t you? Is it because of him?”

Aaron pointed at Nathan. “I always felt something was off between you two. Have you been together all along? You’re leaving me for this man, aren’t you?”

A crowd had gathered outside the hot pot restaurant at some point.

Nora felt mortified and deeply apologetic.

Everyone had come out to celebrate in high spirits, and now Aaron had ruined it all.

Nora’s face hardened, her gaze turning icy as she looked at Aaron. “You know exactly why we broke up. Aaron, you disgust me. A dirty mind sees dirt everywhere. Just because you have skeletons in your closet, you assume everyone is just like you, right?”

The information-packed statement made everyone’s head snap toward Aaron.

Feeling their stares, Aaron’s heart pounded with panic. He forced himself to remain calm and looked at Nora with a sorrowful expression. “Nora, if you’re blaming me for your mother’s hospital transfer, I won’t say a word. It was my fault. But who doesn’t make mistakes?”

“We’ve been together for seven years. Your mother was in my hospital, and I took care of her with all my heart, never once slacking off. Now, just because your mother is no longer at my hospital, you want to break up with me. Don’t you think that’s too cruel?”

As soon as Aaron finished, the way people looked at Nora changed.

His meaning was obvious: he was accusing Nora of being a user, of dating him only to take advantage of his position as a doctor to get care for her mother.

The moment her mother was transferred, Nora showed her true colors.
