“Is this… Ms. Hayes?”
The question hung in the air, leaving everyone stunned.
“Ms. Hayes?”
“You mean Dr. Wells’s girlfriend of seven years, Nora?”
At that, the officers from the station were all taken aback.
While everyone knew Nora had a boyfriend, not all of them had met him.
The story of Aaron getting into a fight and being fined had circulated, leading most to believe he was unworthy of their station’s darling. They had only grumbled about it amongst themselves.
Now, seeing the man in person, they took a good look and confirmed their earlier judgment.
How could this violent, law-ignorant man possibly be worthy of their untouchable Dr. Hayes?
Nora finally broke free from Nathan’s grasp.
She had suspected Aaron was the one who had thrown a punch the moment Nathan moved to block it. She had meant to step in and stop it, but he had been faster.
His grip was incredibly strong, and Nora was pressed so firmly against his hard chest that she could barely breathe.
Straightening her slightly messy hair, Nora shot Nathan a glare, her face flushed.
Nathan looked completely innocent, as if his restraining her had been an unconscious act.
Nora couldn’t help but roll her eyes.
A slight smile played on Nathan’s lips as he instinctively raised a hand to pat her back reassuringly.
The two of them hadn’t spoken a word, yet there was a natural, unspoken understanding between them.
They seemed to exist in their own world, completely shutting everyone else out.
The sight sent Aaron into a fury.
“Nora! Get over here right now!”
Aaron’s words were harsh, and the onlookers frowned. But as their eyes swept over the two men and one woman, they decided to keep their mouths shut.
It was clearly a dramatic scene unfolding, and no one was foolish enough to get involved.
