The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 156

Nathan raised an eyebrow but didn't press the matter.

The car pulled up to her apartment building. Nora opened the door and got out, then turned to see Nathan getting out as well. "You're going home too?"

Nathan didn't seem like the kind of captain who would leave his team working overtime at the station while he went home to relax.

"I'll see you upstairs."

Nora couldn't help but chuckle. "You don't have to. What could happen between here and my apartment?"

"You should head back."

Nathan gave her a long, deep look. "Alright."

"You go up first."

Nora didn't want to waste time arguing with him about it.

She walked straight into the elevator.

Once she reached her floor, Nora instinctively glanced downstairs and, sure enough, saw the man still standing by the car.

She quickly went inside and turned on the lights.

Then she took out her phone and sent Nathan a message: [I'm home.]

[Good.]

The sound of a car engine starting up came from downstairs.

Nora glanced out the window just in time to see the taillights of Nathan's car driving away.

A slight smile touched Nora's lips as she headed for the bathroom, planning to take a bath.

As she turned the doorknob, Nora suddenly had a thought.

Wasn't Nathan driving her car?

The way he acted was a little too natural, as if the car had become their shared property.

Sinking into the tub, Nora thought drowsily, *Tomorrow, I have to have a serious talk with Nathan about whose car it is...*

She didn't know how much time had passed, but a continuous vibration made Nora frown. She rolled over, habitually reaching under her pillow for her phone, but her head hit the cold ceramic tile instead.

"Ouch—"
