The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 272

Even though it was just a fleeting touch, Nathan could still catch the faint scent of her perfume.

Her fragrance lingered in the air beside him; the kiss was as light as a feather, yet it sent his heart hammering like a heavy drum.

Nathan looked regretfully at the closed hospital door.

Nora was definitely getting revenge on him for purposely withholding the fact that this was a private VIP ward.

The thought made Nathan chuckle aloud.

She thought this would fluster him, acting as a form of punishment.

Little did she know, to him, it was the greatest reward in the world.

Rubbing his cheek one last time, Nathan walked over to a nearby chair, sat down, and pulled out his phone to check the messages in the Special Task Force group chat.

...

"Nora, you came to see me!"

Nolan's face lit up with absolute joy when he saw Nora enter. "The doctors and nurses wouldn't let me out of bed, so I couldn't come check on you right away. How are you holding up? Are you okay?"

Nora shook her head. "I'm fine. How are you?"

Nolan showed off his surgically reattached arm.

Even the slightest movement made him wince and bare his teeth in pain.

Seeing this, Nora advised, "You should really listen to your doctor and stop moving around so much."

Nolan nodded.

Nora walked over and tucked a soft pillow behind his lower back. "Did you hear they're closing Rosalind's case?"

Nolan nodded again.

With a complicated expression, he said, "The police went through Rosalind's phone and found some evidence proving I had absolutely nothing to do with it."
