"Looks like we can confirm it," Nathan said softly. "We canvassed the scene and confirmed that Liam Jennings wasn't actually inside Evelyn's apartment for most of the night."
Nora paused.
"So you're saying more than half of Liam's statement was a complete lie."
Nathan sat down next to Nora. "Not necessarily."
Nora frowned.
Seeing her reaction, Nathan let out a low chuckle.
"So impatient?"
Nora shot him a glare.
"I'm thinking."
She was starting to realize that ever since they had laid their cards on the table, this man had completely stopped hiding his true colors around her.
Whenever he got the chance, he just had to show off his cunning, teasing nature.
"Alright, then think hard."
Nathan rested his chin on his hand, his gaze landing softly on Nora.
Flustered by his intense stare, Nora lowered her eyes. "What are you looking at?"
"Looking at how beautiful you are."
Nora was speechless.
She lifted her gaze and stared at him for a long moment.
Suddenly, Nora leaned in, grabbed both of Nathan's cheeks, and gave them a firm pull outward.
His incredibly handsome face instantly puffed up into a round, squishy shape.
The smile on his lips was stretched by her hands, making him look rather comical.
Seeing that he was still smiling even while his face was being squished, Nora felt entirely exasperated.
"What are you smiling about?"
He looked no different from a total fool in love.
Although Nora felt a burst of sweetness in her chest, she was mostly just unaccustomed to it.
