The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 3

At 7:30 PM, Nora’s phone rang right on cue.

Nora sat by the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the bustling traffic below, her expression icy.-

The call went unanswered and disconnected automatically, but the caller persistently tried again.

After more than a dozen attempts, the person began bombarding her with text messages.

[Nora, where are you? You’re not answering my calls or texts. Weren’t you supposed to pick me up from the hospital? Why aren’t you here yet?]

Aaron’s impatient tone practically leaped off the screen.

She took a sip of ice water, her face impassive, and ignored it.

[?]

Aaron was clearly annoyed by Nora’s lack of response.

[What are you doing? Why are you suddenly giving me the silent treatment? Answer the phone!]

[Nora, my patience is wearing thin. You’d better explain to me what’s going on!]

[Nora!]

Being ignored repeatedly made Aaron increasingly agitated, and the calls and texts continued relentlessly.

Nora scoffed and abruptly answered the phone.

“Nora, what the hell are you doing!”

Aaron’s voice, tight with suppressed anger, immediately came through the line.

Nora heard the post-coital hoarseness in his voice even through his rage and frowned in disgust. “Is there something you need?” she asked coldly.

Aaron was taken aback.

Nora was the renowned ice queen of the forensics circle.

She had a natural air of nobility, her movements poised and graceful, yet she was utterly professional during an autopsy, earning her the title of the 'Goddess Judge' of the forensics world.

The year Aaron won her over, the men in the forensics field had mourned for three whole days before accepting the reality.
