"No need. Just send it directly to the Task Force group chat."
"Got it."
"Hurry up and go, Nora."
Nora found Julia's enthusiasm a bit over the top. She was about to ask why she was so thrilled about her visiting the Task Force when her ignored phone started ringing again.
Nora's attention immediately shifted.
She picked up the phone, glanced at the caller ID, and waved at Julia. "I'll head over now."
"Make sure you proofread it before sending."
These files were going on record. Any minor errors could spell disaster.
"I know, I know. Go before you keep him waiting too long."
Julia practically shoved Nora out the door.
Before Nora could ask who she was supposedly keeping waiting, Julia shut the door with a wicked grin.
Nora stood in the hallway, taking a moment to realize Julia was shipping her and Nathan again.
She laughed in sheer disbelief and shook her head with a sigh. Julia was so young.
In the middle of a murder investigation, and her mind was still on romance.
Phone still buzzing in her hand, Nora stepped into the elevator, intending to head straight to the Special Task Force office.
The unknown number was calling again.
This time, Nora answered it.
"Hello, is this Ms. Hayes?"
The background noise was chaotic, filled with chaotic chatter and movement.
Hearing her name, Nora arched a brow. "How can I help you?"
Seeing that Nora didn't confirm her identity, the caller shifted to a brisk, professional tone. "Do you know a Mr. Aaron Wells? He's been injured and is currently receiving treatment at the hospital."
"Since we can't reach any of his family or friends, we had to call his emergency contact."
