The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 315

Nora didn't reply.

Whether she got married or who she married had nothing to do with Leonard.

She didn't want him knowing about her marriage anyway.

Initially, she had thought of her quick marriage as a convenient way to get back at the Hayes family, so she hadn't taken it to heart.

But things were different now. She and Nathan had real feelings for each other, and they genuinely wanted to walk down the aisle together.

So she didn't want the Hayes family involved at all.

She didn't want her wedding ruined by these people.

But even if Nora didn't say it, someone else would.

Mia shot Nora a smug look, as if she had caught her in a massive lie. She eagerly exaggerated how Nora had seamlessly moved on to a cop right after breaking up with Aaron and had decided to marry him.

"Dad, you know Nora. She doesn't joke about marriage. Do you really think she'd marry a complete stranger she just met? Something is obviously wrong here!"

Leonard nodded in strong agreement. He turned to Nora and ordered sternly, "I do not approve of this marriage! Break it off with him immediately!"

Listening to them talk as if they owned her, Nora let out a laugh of pure disbelief.

"Excuse me, but what gives you the right to order me around?"

Choked by her sarcastic tone, Leonard's lips trembled before he finally managed to say, "Nora, no matter what, I am your father."

"I'm sure your mother wouldn't want you throwing your life away on just anyone."

"Nora, listen to me. Marriage isn't a game. If you really feel like you're getting older and want to settle down, let's sit down and pick a suitable candidate together."

"I'm your own father. Do you really think I'd steer you wrong?"

Nora crossed her arms, staring at the hypocritical man with ice in her veins. "Aren't you the one who hurt me the most?"
