The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 362

"Your man is a solid ten!"

Valerie flashed a thumbs-up the second the door clicked shut.

Nora gave her a confused look, asking what she meant.

Valerie smirked. "I mean, if you managed to train that untouchable, ice-cold guy into a perfect househusband, I'm definitely coming to you for dating advice if I ever want a boyfriend."

Nora looked horrified. "Are you seriously asking me?"

If she had actually understood romance, she wouldn't have been completely blindsided and betrayed by Aaron.

Valerie clearly remembered the same thing. She coughed awkwardly and waved her hand. "Never mind, never mind."

"It's pretty obvious your Officer Peyton is the mastermind here. I'd be better off asking him."

"After all, the man clearly played the long game to win you over."

Nora pinched her arm playfully. "You just love teasing me."

"Okay, okay, I'll stop."

"Do you have any spare loungewear? I need a shower. That flight drained the life out of me."

Nora quickly dug a fresh set of clothes out of her closet.

"Hurry up. Dinner is almost ready."

"Got it."

Once Valerie disappeared into the bathroom, Nora headed to the kitchen.

The tomato sauce was bubbling gently on the stove.

Hearing her approach, Nathan glanced over his shoulder. "Where's your friend?"

Nora replied that she was taking a shower.

Nathan hummed in acknowledgment. He set down the wooden spoon, turned around, and effortlessly pulled Nora into his arms.

Nora froze, staring up at him in confusion. "What are you doing?"

Nathan's hand slid down, and he lightly squeezed the sensitive spot at her waist.

A jolt of ticklish electricity shot through her. Nora burst into laughter. "What—what are you doing? Haha..."

"Stop it!"

"Is the sauce ready? Should we start tossing the meat in?"

Nathan chuckled softly. "Sure. Put whatever you want in."

Nora nodded hastily and began tossing her favorite ingredients into the simmering pan.

Nathan watched her every move, a relaxed smile resting on his lips.

...

Outside, the night sky was draped like black velvet, dotted with a scattering of faint stars.

A thin haze of light pollution hovered over Luminport City, making the neon-lit metropolis look even more glamorous and decadent.

A sleek, low-profile black SUV merged off the highway, speeding straight toward a secluded mansion in the city limits.

As the vehicle came to a smooth stop outside the gates, the door slid open. A long arm stretched out, the custom million-dollar diamond watch on the wrist catching the streetlights.

"What are you doing!"

A voice barked from inside. Someone grabbed the wrist and yanked the man back into the vehicle. The door slammed shut, muffling the angry shouts.

"I told you to drive straight in! Don't stop here! Can't you see he's completely out of it? If the paparazzi snap a photo of this, the internet will explode tomorrow!"
