With no other choice, they had to hire hourly cleaners for basic maintenance.
That left them without anyone to cook.
Someone as 'privileged' as Mia was obviously never going to step foot in a kitchen.
Aaron knew how to cook, but as a doctor, he was highly protective of his hands.
Furthermore, he always believed that a man of his stature shouldn't be slaving over a stove. Doing it once or twice was fine, but if he had to cook every single day, what would that make him? A servant?
"Forget it, forget it."
Having vented her frustrations, Mia felt a bit better.
She waved her hand dismissively. "We'll eat here. Let's just finish quickly and go back. I'm dead tired."
Aaron pulled himself from his thoughts and handed her a plastic fork with a strained, artificial smile. "Okay."
Mia eyed it with pure disdain, but ultimately snatched it from him.
The street food vendor gradually brought out the dishes they had ordered.
Finally, he brought out a steaming bowl of incredibly aromatic bone broth.
"Did you order this?"
Mia glanced at the bone broth.
The broth was a rich, milky white, making it obvious at a glance that it had been simmered to perfection.
Even though Mia was used to fine dining, after partying all night, her ravenous hunger made everything look absolutely mouthwatering.
She couldn't wait to grab a bowl and scoop out some broth, muttering to herself, "I didn't expect this street vendor to actually have some culinary skills."
Aaron frowned at the soup.
"I didn't order this."
Who would order a whole pot of soup in the middle of the night?
