"Watch your mouth, Aaron!"
Mia raised her foot to kick the table in frustration.
But seeing how flimsy the stall's tables were, and afraid she'd flip it over completely, she could only stomp her foot in grievance. She glared at Aaron with disgust and irritation. "Have I been too nice to you lately? Are you starting to forget your place?"
The expression on Aaron's face froze.
Belatedly realizing that the power dynamic between him and Mia had completely flipped, a dark gloom settled into Aaron's eyes.
His relationship with Mia was becoming increasingly complicated.
Mia treated him like a boy toy. When she was happy, she took him on shopping sprees, letting him experience the thrill of being wealthy.
When she was upset, she hurled vicious insults at him, claiming his incompetence was the reason Leonard Hayes despised her.
Both of them knew perfectly well that their current situation was entirely their own doing.
But they would rather die than admit it.
As a result, they blamed and resented each other, yet were forced to stay together because their interests were so deeply tied.
Aaron initially thought this toxic, love-hate dynamic was fine, but Mia was constantly throwing inappropriate tantrums, making it incredibly hard for him to tolerate her.
Back when he was with Nora, she accommodated him in every way. When did he ever have to act so submissive and pathetic?
Furthermore, Mia thought she was hiding it well, but he actually knew exactly what she was up to.
She claimed she wanted to attend the Peyton heir's wedding to network, but in reality, she had already promised Leonard that she would use the opportunity to find a suitable marriage alliance.
Mia wanted to have her cake and eat it too!
She wanted to partner with him to take over the Hayes Group, and she wanted to keep stringing him along just to disgust Nora.
All while planning to marry into a prominent family to secure her status as a wealthy socialite.
That way, even if their partnership failed, she would still be swimming in cash.
