After quickly making the call, Aaron turned his relentless glare back onto the owner. "You're paying for her medical bills!"

The owner was terrified. "Why should I pay?"

"My girlfriend got sick right after eating your food. Don't even try to deny it!"

Since things had escalated to this point, the owner realized this wasn't going to be resolved peacefully.

"You really think I don't know what you're trying to pull? You dress like a respectable gentleman, but I never imagined you'd be this shameless!"

"I accidentally served you the wrong soup earlier, and you drank the whole thing, didn't you?"

"I was so swamped earlier that I mixed up the orders. That bone broth was worth over fifty dollars, and it went to your table. I saw that you had already drank it, and since it was my own mistake, I decided to just swallow the loss and not say anything. You and your girlfriend knew perfectly well you didn't order that soup, but you didn't utter a single word about it! I didn't even charge you for the soup, and you still have the nerve to try and scam me?"

The moment he said this, the surrounding crowd fell into stunned silence.

"Oh my god, look at that pot. They licked the bones completely clean. These two are wearing designer clothes, but they're seriously trying to scam a guy out of a few bucks? How embarrassing."

The agonizing cramps in her stomach made her wish she was dead, yet Aaron was standing here making her lose face. Unable to endure it any longer, she slammed her hand against the table and shrieked, "Aaron Wells! Get your ass over here right now!"

Aaron hadn't expected the owner to be fully aware of the soup mix-up. For a moment, panic flashed across his face.

His grip loosened, and just as he was about to use Mia's demand as an excuse to retreat, the owner refused to let him go. "Don't even think about leaving! You drank my soup and now you're trying to extort money from me! I have a family to feed! Do you think running a small business is easy?"

"If you don't settle this clearly right now, you're not going anywhere!"

The crowd fully supported the owner, loudly clamoring for him to call the police.
