The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 512

"Besides, he's been bouncing between you and Nora for months. He's clearly a mess. You can do much better."

Mia offered a quiet murmur of agreement.

Satisfied, Leonard pulled out his phone and transferred a million dollars into her account. "Don't hold back on expenses. Get yourself whatever you need."

Mia silently scoffed at the meager sum.

Still, given how tight-fisted he had been lately, she accepted the transfer without hesitation.

"Thank you, Dad."

Leonard basked in the validation of her gratitude.

It was a stark contrast to Nora, who fought him at every turn.

Unfortunately, Nora was no longer someone he could casually push around.

His expression darkened at the thought. "If you have the time, you need to figure out a way to mend fences with your sister," he ordered.

Nora had the backing of the Devereaux family now. She was completely untouchable.

Getting her back on their side was the only logical move.

Mia was so blindsided by the sudden demand that her carefully crafted mask almost slipped.

"Dad... she won't even look at me," she protested softly. "If I try to force a reconciliation, it's only going to make her resent the family more."

She framed it as a strategic concern, hoping to talk him out of the absurd idea.

To her horror, Leonard nodded in solemn agreement. "That's true. Given that you and your mother tore her family apart, Nora is never going to give you the time of day."

"Never mind. Just stay out of her way. The last thing we need is you triggering another one of her episodes."
