Mia's stomach dropped at the news of the shutdown.
But the promise of a private contact instantly rekindled her hope.
"Can you send me his number? I need to talk to him."
Sensing the sheer desperation in Mia's voice, Lindsay instantly knew she was planning to use the service.
They had only ever been party acquaintances.
But after so many wild nights together, Lindsay genuinely considered Mia a friend.
"Look, people have been saying that site is seriously messed up," Lindsay warned, her tone shifting to genuine concern. "There's a reason it keeps getting taken down. Mia, you need to think this through."
Mia knew Lindsay was just looking out for her.
But she was past the point of caring.
"I just need to vent, okay? Consider it a twisted form of therapy."
She launched into a highly dramatized version of the nightmare she had been living.
"My life has been an absolute disaster lately. I just thought maybe if I put a wish out into the universe, my luck would finally turn around."
"Come on, Linds. We're still friends, right? I really need your help with this."
Lindsay hadn't realized how far Mia had fallen since she abandoned the party scene.
Her apprehension melted into pity.
"Alright, you can talk to him. Honestly, half the girls think he's just some unlicensed therapist using the site as a gimmick to get clients."
"The whole 'granting wishes' thing is probably just a marketing hook."
"Maybe talking to him will actually help you clear your head."
"Exactly," Mia agreed, completely tuning out Lindsay's rationalizations.
"Just send me the contact info."
Lindsay forwarded the contact card to Mia's phone.
