Chapter 259
Sneak Peak 1* – Rowan
Five Months Later
I had officially lost my mind.
Completely.
There was no other explanation.
Because less than ten minutes ago, I had witnessed the most intense moment of my life… my wife giving birth.
I didn‘: just hear about it or peek in from the doorway.
I experienced it. Every excruciating second.
And somehow, even though it looked like the most brutal, gut–wrenching pain a human could endure… I found myself craving more children.
Clearly, I needed medical help. Maybe even psychiatric. Probably both.
The sharp, fierce cry of our daughter shattered the silence in the delivery room.
Tiny. Raw. Perfectly furious.
My heart didn’t just skip a beat, it stopped, emotionally overwhelmed.
The doctor smiled as she carefully lifted her into the world. “Congratulations
I couldn’t find words. Couldn’t breathe. Couldn’t think.
Because suddenly there was a baby. Our baby.
Blood coated her fragile skin while nurses hustled around us like a well–oiled machine
Everything blurred into chaos, someone handed me scissors, someone told me where to stand, someone explained what to do.
I couldn’t tell you who.
My entire being was anchored on Violet. She looked utterly drained. Exhausted beyond words. Sweaty. Tear–streaked.
Yet beautiful. And somehow, still smiling.
I stared at her. Then at our daughter. Then back to Violet.
How the hell did she do that?
Seriously.
had shown me a childbirth video months ago, I’d have booked a vasectomy immediately… out of respect.
The doctor guided my hand firmly. I cut the cord. Someone congratulated me.
I nodded, pretending I understood. didn’t.
Then, a nurse gently wrapped our daughter in a soft blanket and handed her to me.
Game over.
Completely over.
I looked down. And I fell in love.
She was so tiny. So fragile. A shock of dark hair crowned her head. Her eyes squeezed shut, letting out tiny, disgruntled teises from within the blanket.
She looked like she was already pissed to be here. And damn if that wasn’t perfect.
My chest tightened, then clenched harder.
I stared at her tiny fingers. Her delicate nose. Her perfect little mouth. Everything about her was impossibly small.
Yet somehow, she owned me completely
“Hi,” my voice cracked.
Wonderful.
The billionaire CEO was crying.
Fantastic.
I didn’t care. Not even a little.
“Hi, sweetheart.”
The tiny noises grew louder.
I smiled. “Oh, you’re definitely your mother’s daughter.”
Another tiny sound.
I nodded. “Yeah.”
Then I glanced at Violet.
She looked just as overwhelmed.
The moment our eyes met, tears began flowing again.
At this point, I expected nothing less.
Minutes later, a nurse stepped forward “Okay, Dad.”
That word hit me like a punch.
Dad.
It felt different, Powerful.
“We need to take her for measurements and testing.”
Hell no. Absolutely not.
The nurse reached forward.
I took a step back.
She blinked,
I blinked back.
Silence.
Another nurse approached. Then stopped
Clearly, they’d dealt with protective fathers before
Good.
They should have. Because nobody was taking my daughter anywhere.
The first nurse smiled patiently. “Mr. Ashcroft.”

Their ‘aughter only grew. Traitors.
