Chapter 164
Cora POV
After a short shower and just before I climbed into bed, Xavier wrapped his arms around my waist from behind.
“How are you? It’s been an enlightening day.” Xavier kissed my neck, sending shivers down my body and pooling between my legs.
“Fine, tired,” I murmured.
“That was a lot of information on your family that was involved in this black market scheme; are you sure you’re fine?” Xavier pushed.
“I could ask you the same; that was a lot of information on your club members. You had to have been hurt inside when you learned that Dormouse, who we all thought was an innocent victim of a shooter, although out of MO, was hit by that driver whose tyre was shot out, causing the car to hit him. He lived, but will never ride a bike again, and is on a long road to recovery. If he was deliberately hit, like this information appears to say, then his life is in danger. Someone needs to go visit him and quietly question him.” Poor Dormouse, he was young and stupid and didn’t deserve what happened to him.
“I will talk to Demetri, move him to another rehabilitation center. Where’s Jake?” I told him where Jake was. Not that far away, just over an hour’s drive out of the city, we were on the exclusive side where blocks of land were larger and private. The rehabilitation center was also in a country setting, trying to give peace and privacy on a large property. The online reviews were good; a perfect place for Jake’s parents to dump him and say they did their part. I felt a tinge of sorrow for him until I read the report that they were part of the black market, wondering if my uncle was going to try to say I was too and have the government seize my inheritance. Won’t work; I have plenty of proof I had nothing to do with it, but wouldn’t put it past my uncle to make it appear otherwise. My mother was too distrustful and was careful about how to keep the money safe.
“Good, will send him there if we can. Safer, the security in that private facility is top–notch.” Xavier suggested, we need to get to Dormouse and find out what he knows before they silence him completely.
“Still didn’t answer my question.” I huffed as he continued to nibble my neck and run his hands over my body.
“Upset? Yes, I won’t deny it hurts seeing friends and club members I trusted to be part of this; I’ll have to wait and see what’s left of the club when all this gets out.” Xavier sounds upset,

“We have only three active members. Let’s talk to Hacker in private and share our information. He can share with Oddball, if he can find the right time, that the security footage will show him the truth, but hold off on Dormouse; we don’t want to tip that hand yet. We
leave Scrubs out of it for now; he’s too close to the problem, and he might let slip or react and give the game away too soon.” I groaned out as Xavier slid his hand between my legs.
“Wet for me, Babe?” He chuckled, knowing what he was doing to me.
How could we have a serious conversation while he was playing with my body, working me up? It was impossible; he had successfully distracted me from what we were talking about, and he had lost my train of thought.
“You could say that.” I wiggled my hips, pushing my cheeks against his groin, feeling his shaft
rock hard.
Xavier walked me forward till I reached the bed, and, using one hand, pushed me onto the bed, exposing me from behind; he rubbed his shaft along my core, coating his shaft with my juices, then slipped easily inside of me.
I lowered myself onto the bed, placing the weight on my elbows, my hands scrunching the blanket on the bed, my legs slightly apart, as Xavier held my hips and thrust deep inside.
“Beast.” I groaned as he pushed inside of me, hitting all the right places.
Then, unexpectedly, he changed his grip and raised me higher, my legs almost wrapped around his backside, my feet resting on his hips, my legs open wider, as he managed to find a different angle and pushed in deeper. The sounds of my wetness, combined with his grunts and my puffs, were the only sounds in the room. As he picked up speed, there was little I could do from this angle, except enjoy the ride, and boy, what a finish to the day this was turning out to be. Xavier liked to try different positions, and this one was a beauty. It might take more out of him holding me up like this, but I didn’t mind; those thrusts in were delicious, deep.
“Cum for me, Babe.” Xavier’s husky voice demanded, and it amazed me that my body reacted to his demand, and I squealed out his name as he too roared out mine.
Once Xavier had got his breath back, he lowered my legs back to the floor and headed to the bathroom for a warm cloth to clean me up, then returned the cloth to the hamper. By then, I had climbed into bed, sated.
“Tomorrow, we’ll talk to Demetri and get his opinion on how to proceed. This investigation has gone beyond my experience; Demetri may have ideas on the best next step. But I don’t want you in tears over this. I am here for you, and together, we shall get through this.” Xavier

snuggled up behind me, holding me close to him. My guess was he was hurt more than he wanted to admit; it had to hurt more than it had me when I had seen the names, as some l hadn’t met yet, and if they were crooked, glad I hadn’t.
“Yes, we will also have some answers to what happened tonight: if the van parked and the driver slept or walked into the bushes to shoot out tyres. Tomorrow will be busy. With luck, we can put some sense into all of this,” I added, yawning, too tired to think anymore.
Some time early in the morning, Xavier’s phone rang.
I reached over and picked it up, shook Xavier awake, and handed him the phone.
“Hello,” Xavier said in a sleepy voice.
Xavier suddenly sat up and put the call on speaker.
“Why haven’t you come to the club yet? We need you here.” Oddball sounded frustrated; there was a lot of noise in the background. I looked at the phone. It was five in the morning. Did they have an all–night party?
“I told you, I am no longer part of the club; stop calling me.” Xavier hung up, put his phone roughly back on the side table, and was about to lie back down when it rang again. Xavier picked up the phone, pushed the reject button, hunted his name in the contacts, and blocked Oddball. He lay back down and pulled me to him, snuggling back in.
The sound of his deep, sleepy breathing began, and I marvelled at how quickly he could go back to sleep, whereas I was the opposite; my mind wouldn’t shut off, and I couldn’t fall back asleep. I evaluated the call, the tone of Oddball’s voice, and the noise in the background; it didn’t sound like a party to me.
Eventually, my mind quietened, and I was able to doze off, and all too soon, Xavier was moving, climbing out of bed, and heading to the bathroom.
“Ugh, too soon,” I mumbled, grabbing Xavier’s pillow and snuggling into it, his unique scent all over the still warm pillow. It had a calming effect on me.
I must have fallen back to sleep. The smell of coffee hit my nose; I risked one eye and saw a cup of coffee inches from my face. Behind it was the smiling face of Xavier.
“Morning.” I sat up, carefully took the cup and savoured my first sip.
“Demetri and Ruby are in the kitchen having breakfast. I think you’d better come downstairs soon. Demetri has something he wants to talk about.”
