"Right now, this patient is a hot potato that no one in the department wants to touch," Holly sighed. "You just arrived, and you're already making waves. Lila probably wants to put you in your place."

Riley was a bit confused. "I don't have any grudge against her. Why would she want to put me in my place?"

Holly hesitated, but since Riley was buying her lunch, she tactfully explained, "She's always followed Dr. Grosse. Right now, you and Dr. Grosse are the only two Senior Attendings in our department. She's probably trying to suppress your momentum on Dr. Grosse's behalf."
