Riley's face went white with terror. She whipped her head around and screamed at Lila, "Don't come any closer!"

Holly rushed forward and blocked Lila, practically gritting her teeth. "What the hell are you yelling for? Jenna was just about to come down with Dr. Vance!"

Lila bristled. How dare a junior doctor like Holly snap at a mid-level attending like her? "This is none of your business, is it, Holly? What are you even doing here?"

Holly choked on her words, but a second later she simply let go of Lila and threw her own words back at her. "You're right, it isn't my business. You've been the one handling this, so hurry up and go over there."

Lila had been genuinely terrified by the scene, but now that she had calmed down, there was no way she was going over there. She wasn't an idiot.

By now, several other doctors had arrived on the roof, huddling in the shade by the doorway, too afraid to approach. Dr. Grosse was among them.

Lila immediately walked over, about to say something to Dr. Grosse, but Dr. Grosse shoved her aside, telling her not to block the view. She then gestured to Riley, signaling her to keep stalling because she had already called the police.

Riley vaguely understood Dr. Grosse's message and gave a subtle nod. She turned her attention back to Jenna on the ledge and reached out her hand again. "I am your attending physician. Don't worry, I promise I will take responsibility for you. Please, just trust me."

Jenna shook her head. "No. No, you're all liars. You just want to trick me into taking those pills. I won't take them. I'm never taking them again."

Seeing her agitation spike again, Riley immediately played along. "Okay, we won't take them."

"No!" Jenna suddenly screamed, clutching her head as she suffered a complete emotional breakdown. "If I don't take them, my daughter will get hurt! No, I can't let my daughter get hurt!"

Riley didn't know if skipping the medication caused Jenna to unconsciously harm her daughter, or if someone had simply planted that fear in her head. Regardless, telling her not to take the pills was no longer an option.

But she couldn't tell her to take them, either.
