Winona paused the video, but she was still grinning from ear to ear. "You've gone viral again, Riley! It's only been up for two hours and it's already pushing a hundred thousand likes."
Riley groaned, burying her face in her hands. "Who has this much free time to post something so embarrassing?"
"The comments section already cracked the case. Everyone recognized you as the doctor who saved that woman on the roof, and figured out she's the one dancing on the bottom screen."
Right as she finished speaking, the exact same chaotic baseline of the video's audio echoed from across the living room.
Riley whipped her head around.
Sebastian was staring at his phone, watching the exact same video.
Absolute social suicide.
This was a nightmare.
The sheer humiliation was going to vaporize her on the spot. "Don't watch that!"
Sebastian looked up, a rare, highly amused smirk playing on his lips, before dropping his eyes right back to the screen to keep watching.
No. Oh, God, no.
Without thinking, Riley launched herself off the sofa, sprinting across the room and lunging at him to rip the phone out of his hand. "I said stop!"
Sebastian smoothly shifted his arm out of reach, holding the phone higher.
Riley went up on her tiptoes, swiping for it.
He leaned back onto the couch, dodging her entirely.
That cursed, mocking background music continued blasting through the living room, a relentless reminder that the man was currently watching her publicly humiliate herself.
Only one thought existed in Riley's brain: This is too embarrassing. He cannot watch this. He absolutely cannot watch this!
She threw her entire body forward in a desperate leap for the phone. She hit him with so much force that she completely lost track of her surroundings. It wasn't until her fingers finally locked around the top half of his phone that she realized he had stopped moving entirely.
She looked down.
She was completely straddling Sebastian's lap.
One of her hands was planted flat against the hard muscle of his chest, pinning him to the sofa, while her other hand had a death grip on his phone.
Their eyes met.
Boom!
Something violently exploded inside Riley's brain, blowing all cognitive function to ash, leaving her paralyzed in sheer terror.
