The Coldest Man in the Room Melted Only for Me novel Chapter 315

In a moment of sheer desperation, Riley didn't think twice. She grabbed Sebastian's arm, yanked him onto the bed, and threw herself down beside him. She yanked the blanket up to cover them both entirely, leaving only her own head poking out.

The door swung open just as she settled, and Madeline stood in the doorway, ready to walk in.

Riley frantically yelled, "Don't come in!"

Even though she and Sebastian were lying on their sides pressed together, anyone walking closer would definitely notice something was wrong. The silhouette of two people under a blanket was vastly different from one, especially given Sebastian's imposing frame.

Startled by Riley's sudden outburst, Madeline stopped in her tracks. "What's wrong?"

Riley forced a deeply awkward smile. "I haven't washed up yet, and I really hate letting people see me looking like a mess. Did you need something, Madeline?"

Madeline hovered by the door. "I saw a blanket on the living room sofa..."

"I put it there!" Riley interrupted hastily. "I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night, so I went out to lay on the couch for a bit."

Madeline nodded. "Well, get up and wash up then. You have classes to get to; you don't want to be late. Lucille is making breakfast, and it'll be ready soon."

"Okay!"

Madeline turned to leave.

"Madeline," Riley called out, managing another strained smile as Madeline looked back. "Could you do me a favor and pull the door shut?"

"You're very particular today," Madeline noted with a warm smile, pulling the door closed behind her.

Listening to Madeline's footsteps fade down the hall, Riley finally let her tightly wound nerves relax. She exhaled a massive breath. "That scared me to death. You can come out now."

The figure under the blanket didn't move.
