Pierce's fingers curled slightly at his sides. “Riley, don't talk to me like that. I'm not your enemy.”

“You've seen your daughter. You can leave now.” Riley directly kicked him out.

Pierce knew Riley was still furious, and rightfully so. Seraphina had done all this to her because of him. Staying here would only make her angrier. “I'll come see Alora when I have time.”

Riley ignored him, walked over to the stroller, and gently placed her daughter inside.

Pierce turned and left.

After dinner, Mrs. Lowell cleared the table while Riley pushed her daughter into the living room to play. She handed Alora a teething biscuit, and the little one was thrilled, clutching it and drooling everywhere as she gnawed on it.

Smiling, Riley wiped the drool from her daughter's face with a tissue. She then pulled out her phone, debating whether she should call Sebastian to ask if he was the one who punished Seraphina.

Deep down, Riley was almost certain Sebastian was the one behind it.

Doing things silently without taking credit perfectly matched his style.

Besides him, who else had the power to do something like that? Seraphina was the heiress of The Sutton Group; normal people wouldn't dare cross her.

Whether it was her special recruitment, harshly punishing the people involved in Jenna's incident, dropping a major client to fly to Riverport, or taking revenge on Seraphina for her—he had done all of it without ever saying a word.

This clearly meant he didn't want her to know.

If she brought it up, it would only make things awkward.

She couldn't ask him why he treated her so well because, regardless of whether he truly liked her or not, they could never be together.
