Seeing that she still hadn't arrived, Dylan called Dennis over. "Where is she? Why isn't she here?"
Dennis glanced at the empty workstation and shook his head. "I don't know."
Dylan frowned.
Sensing his boss's foul mood, Dennis asked cautiously, "Mr. Austin, should I call Mrs. Austin and ask?"
Dylan nodded.
With permission, Dennis immediately called Rebecca.
A short while later, Dennis hung up, his expression turning grim.
Dylan's heart tightened. "What is it?"
Dennis struggled to get the words out. "It's not good, sir. Mrs. Austin said she's not coming back…"
"Why?" Dylan demanded, his brow furrowed.
Dennis shook his head again. "She didn't say."
Dylan's face instantly darkened.
Didn't she come here to pursue him? Is she just giving up before she even succeeds?
Of course, Dylan couldn't bring himself to ask that out loud. He waved a hand at Dennis. "You can go."
Dennis nodded. Just as he was about to leave, he remembered something and turned back. "Mr. Austin, you have a meeting in ten minutes."
Dylan gave a curt reply. "I know."
Seeing this, Dennis quietly excused himself.
However, once the meeting started, Dylan found his mind constantly wandering.
The senior executives argued heatedly, but Dylan was completely checked out.
When it was time for the final decision, a decision that required Dylan's approval, he remained silent.
Everyone turned to look at him.
