In his eyes, the Foster family were nothing but selfish, pathetic creatures who only understood how to beg for mercy when faced with a dead end. This kind of forced enlightenment was hardly convincing evidence of genuine change.
Jane stammered, “Before… before we were blinded by greed. Our judgment was clouded by personal gain. We didn’t realize our mistakes, but we truly know we were wrong now.”
Katherine quickly added, “Mr. Austin, you’re a magnanimous man. Please forgive us this one time. To err is human, after all. We promise we’ll be better people from now on. We’ll never cause trouble for you or Rebecca again.”
Dylan was silent for a moment, then waved his hand, signaling the bodyguards to stop.
Seeing the gesture, Dennis immediately ordered the men to release Hogan.
Hogan collapsed to the floor like a sack of wet cement, continuously spitting out the food that had been forced into him, mixed with blood and saliva. He was a pathetic sight.
Katherine and Jane screamed and crawled over to him.
“Dad!”
“Honey!”
The family clung to each other, weeping. Supported by the two women, Hogan’s body trembled uncontrollably, and he couldn’t form a coherent sentence.
More than half the food on the table remained untouched.
Finally, Dylan stood up and said coldly, “It seems your sincerity is lacking. We’ll end it here for today. But you’d better remember this was just a warning. If you ever dare to bother my wife again, what happens next will be far worse than this.”
With that, he took Rebecca’s hand and left the suite.
Hogan, Jane, and Katherine remained slumped in the room, too stunned to move for a long time.
They had heard Dylan could be ruthless, but they never imagined it would be this terrifying.
Thinking of the Foster family’s bleak future, Hogan’s eyes filled with despair.
His vision went dark, and he fainted.
Jane screamed in panic, “Honey! Honey!”
Jane and Katherine frantically tried to lift Hogan to take him to the hospital.
