The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan) novel Chapter 628

Harold's text was laced with anger, like he was saying, "You're not even my girlfriend anymore, and here you are, sticking your nose into the women around me. Quite nosy, aren't you?"

"What’s the name of the boss's daughter?"

"I don't know."

Victoria knew Harold was fuming; she was certain he wouldn't spill the name to her.

"Just let Mr. Evans ask him; I can't get it out of him." Victoria wasn't surrendering; it was just that asking this question was out of line for her, and it would only make Harold more obstinate. Why make things worse for herself?

"Victoria says you should ask yourself; she can't get it out of him," Cordelia mentioned to Ronan, lying across the pillow.

Ronan had already expected Victoria's reluctance. He was just giving her an excuse to talk to Harold.

Ronan picked up his phone and sent Harold a message on Messenger: "What's the name of that high-profile boss's daughter who's after you?"

Harold received the message and thought for a moment: Why was Victoria asking this, and now Ronan too?

But given Ronan's status, Harold replied honestly: "Daniella."

"Daniella," Ronan murmured the name to himself.

"You like that name or something?" Cordelia, knowing full well whose name Ronan was repeating, was slightly annoyed.

Ronan wrapped his arm around Cordelia's neck, "No name in the world holds a candle to yours."

Cordelia didn't engage further nor did she bring up the topic again, "What about the Edith Hills project, then?"

She was reminded of the unresolved issue and noticed Ronan wasn't in a rush, which made her anxious.

Emerson maintained his irreverent demeanor, "Got a picture?"

"Nah, you gotta see her in person."

"And you're excited about this why?"

"It's not about excitement; you have to pursue her! We need her for the Edith Hills project, and if you snag her, you can always break it off later. The 'handsome man strategy' only works if there's an actual handsome man involved, right? Count yourself lucky," Ronan said dismissively.

Emerson was speechless.

Daniella, the boss's daughter, hadn't followed her father into the military. Instead, she'd gone to college and become a drone designer.

Her interest in Harold was purely based on looks and, perhaps, his potential prowess in bed. During a weighted run where most had faltered, Harold was the one who'd crossed the finish line without breaking a sweat. Moreover, his exceptional stamina and achievements in various competitions had made him stand out. And he was good-looking to boot. It wasn't surprising that he caught the eye of the commander's prized daughter.
