The Devil CEO's Contract Wife novel Chapter 170

Chapter 170: "Pure" Intentions

Interesting.

Not many people who threatened me walked, but I found myself entirely entertained by this display.

Maybe it was the mellow behavior to the fact that I could bury him and his entire farm, yet he looked me in the eye and still attempted to do what it takes.

"I already had to deal with Dan, who broke her heart, and I won’t"

"That scumbag?"

Walter raised an eyebrow, and I simply took my glass of water for a drink.

"You know Daniel?"

"Yes."

He scoffed. "What’s this? You know everything about your employee’s personal life, too?"

"Let’s say I had to get involved." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

He narrowed his eyes. "Are you trying to say you got to him first before I could..."

He didn’t sound too pleased by that.

"Maybe."

Walter leaned back on his seat and folded his arms, a smile playing on his lips. "I’ll give you points for that."

"No need, I took care of a scumbag."

He nodded slowly. "I still don’t like you."

"I don’t care."

"Even when I tell you that whatever intentions you have, take them far away from my granddaughter?"

"My intentions are... pure."

Walter chuckled, coughing a little before the sound died out. "Let’s make something clear. I respect my granddaughter’s decisions as an adult, but if you break her heart..." He cocked the rifle. "I’ll hunt you down."

"If you live long enough for that."

"Then my fucking ghost will continue the damn job."

A smile stretched my lips. "Understood."

The crickets were louder than usual, the sound of the wind, and the occasional creaks from a faulty window, and the faucet dripped steadily into the sink.

The various noises were keeping me wide awake, and unlike my penthouse, where noise was canceled, this was a whole experience.

I can’t sleep.

I sat up, taking off the blanket Walter was so kind to give me. It was light and did nothing to keep the night cold away.

I got off the couch and turned on the light, observing the living room, seeing pictures on the shelves, a far too busy decor.

I folded my arms as I eyed all of them. From Catherine’s toddler days to when she graduated from MC. So many memories nailed the wall, yet somehow it fits.

Catherine’s parents.

It’s not locked.

I don’t like that look.

I preferred her tears when I was either pounding my cock into her pussy or spanking her ass to teach her; those were when tears were needed.

I rested my hand on the bed and inclined, the scent of the shampoo she used shrouding my nose. I closed my eyes in ecstasy, taking a deep whiff before I opened them.

Catherine’s lashes flickered, and I knew she could discern someone was close. It took a minute before she opened her eyes, and they widened instantly. I slapped my hand on her mouth before she could make a sound.

"Walter won’t be pleased if he finds out—"

Her knee collided with my balls, and I grunted, losing balance as she tackled me to the bed and saddled me. Before I could collect myself, she slapped me twice, pouring her entire strength into it. Pain shot through me, but it wasn’t from my cheeks.

"You have some nerves coming to my room...!" She hissed, grabbing the collar of my shirt like she wanted to punch me this time.

Athena was right.

Catherine was the only one who could do things like this without experiencing a fate worse than death. I never let anyone get the chance to hold even an atom power over me.

But in this instant I felt it... Catherine had a hold on me. I still don’t know if I liked or despised that revelation.

Power was one of my Achilles heels, and having someone have that over me didn’t feel right.

I broke the chain of hold, and Catherine was on the bed before she registered it. I flipped her onto her front, and my palm collided with her ass, feeling a gratifying chill seep through me.

"Shhh..." I hushed her. "You don’t want your gramps to come in here and see his granddaughter getting spanked."

I needed to remind her that this dynamic wasn’t in reverse.

"Bite down on the pillow."
