[Music: The Phoenix By Fall Out Boy]
James’ men were shooting at something or someone, unleashing hell. Everyone dispersed in screams and terror, the lights flickering, making everything seem more eerie.
What shook my bones was how James’ men dropped one after the other, even as more streamed in to fire more power.
"WHAT’S HAPPENING?!" James roared as his casino was torn upside down, a few of his men came to hold him from diving into danger, and he kept screaming like a child as everything was laid waste.
I stood still amidst all the chaos, watching as headshots were taken and bodies dropped.
The lights from the entrance suddenly went dark, and the rest stilled. Everything and everyone paused; no one dared to breathe, either.
The men kept their guns pointed, closing in on the spot.
"WHO IS IT?!" James roared from behind his bodyguard. "WHO DARES ATTACK ME?!"
My breath was shaky as I veered my eyes back to the dark area. The prolonged silence was even more unnerving, and I knew everyone could feel it.
And then a footstep was heard. I expected multiple because of how much firepower James’ men had wasted against them.
But the moment black leather boots stepped out into the light and the rest of the shadow emerged, I think everyone stopped breathing.
The stranger was clad in leather, and a biker helmet concealed his identity.
Are you fucking kidding me? Did this person singlehandedly kill all these men?
A round dropped from his silencer, and when he jammed another back in place, the men got alerted. However, to their surprise, he pulled out another, with accuracy and speed that couldn’t be matched, as once again headshots were taken and bullets flew past him.
Okay, that’s super hot!
James barked orders as he was dragged away to safety. Noah grabbed me by the arm, forcing me to move.
His men dropped as the stranger unexpectedly focused his attention on them.
I screamed, ducking as bullets flew everywhere, tables splintered, machines punctured, and glass shattering.
"Move!" Noah yelled.
"Are you fucking crazy?! There’s a daredevil shooting at us!"
Noah growled and yanked me along, barking to his men to go after the stranger. Since guns weren’t working anymore, they threw punches.
I couldn’t see how it played out, but I heard crashing and yells followed by more gunshots. This was a freaking action movie unfolding before my eyes, except I did not picture myself as a part of it.
Noah successfully took me away from the main hall into the hallway. I grabbed a table leg along the way, and slammed against his back.
"Fucking shit!" I yelled, kicking him with every strength I could muster.
Noah grunted in pain before it changed into a gut-wrenching scream when I used my heel to repeatedly stomp on his leg.
"STOP!" he wailed as I did it again and again until I felt a presence behind me.
It was the badass stranger.
Wait! Are they all dead?
I looked, and that was a mistake. It was a total massacre! I think I’m gonna be sick.
Crack!
Holy shit! It’s Ares!
