After a meal together at Rainiers, they headed to Wynters Manor. It was Evie’s first time here, so Aaron had invited her to Wynters as well.
As they entered the residence and reached the foyer, Evie said, "Though both residences are so close, it feels like an entirely different world here."
Erin nodded. "That shows how both families are different but united at the same time," Erin said. "The previous Lord Wynters preferred vintage surroundings, while Lord Rainiers seemed to prefer something that follows the present time."
Evie hummed. "This residence is truly beautiful and peaceful."
Erin nodded and then glanced at Aaron. "Peaceful because there is no lady to create chaos like us."
Aaron was getting used to Erin’s teasing now, and he kept quiet.
"Only if there was a Lady Wynters, I would be less lonely," Erin said in a dramatic tone.
"How about having another sibling for Aaria?" Aaron asked, his expression calm but a smile on his lips. "That would keep every one of us busy to want an outsider in the family."
Erin entirely turned to face him. "Brother Aaron, this home needs a lady. And I need an adult companion. This beautiful home lacks its real charm without a lady of it."
"Who said there is no lady in this house?" a voice came.
Rina came to them. "I am the lady here. I have my own beautiful room as well," she looked at Aaron. "Isn’t it, brother?"
"Of course. This home is yours," Aaron said.
"Here comes brother’s saviour," Erin narrowed her eyes at Rina. "You always have to meddle in."
Rina shrank back at the way Erin glared at her. "I am sorry, sister-in-law... I was just..." but scared, she turned to Evie and grabbed her hand. "Sister-in-law Evie, let me show you my room," and dragged her upstairs with herself while whispering, "When my sister-in-law narrows her eyes, one should run away, or you are dead."
"Rina, you are becoming naughty as you are growing up," Erin called behind her. "You are going to be an adult lady in coming years."
Rina hurried her pace upstairs, while Evie followed her quietly, smiling pleasantly.
"See, she is scary. Even my brother won’t dare argue with her," Rina whispered again. "But she is the best. She keeps our home lively."
"That’s true," Evie replied.
Rina showed Evie her room. "Brother Aaron set it for me when we arrived here a year back," Rina explained. "Isn’t it beautiful?"
"It is," Evie said.
Others stayed downstairs, while Erin came to them and offered Evie, "Let me show you other parts," and turned to Rina. "Mother had called for you."
"Oh! I forgot the work Mother had given me," Rina said and left in a hurry.
They came out to a huge balcony on the upper floor after Erin showed her the interiors.
Seeing the beautiful greenery and the wide, well-maintained rear part of the estate from the balcony, Evie couldn’t help but say, "The beauty of the north-east is truly unique. Nothing compares to it."
"True," Erin said. "While living in the capital, we were missing the most beautiful part of the kingdom. I am glad now I live in such a beautiful place."
Evie hummed. "It’s like living in heaven while you are still alive."
"Yes, because after dying, we are going to hell. Especially doing all those sinful things with my husband, at least I am going to hell," Erin said.
Evie shook her head at her shameless friends and smiled.
"Your turn of sinful things will come as well," Erin teased, "So be in heaven while we are still alive."
Evie didn’t comment on, instead her eyes noticed something.
