The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 100

chapter 100

Meanwhile, Jessica met with Mr. Smith. With her anger and determination to prove to Mason, she didn’t even use her logic again.

She just signed the documents. In fact, she sent 40 million dollars as an investment. She expected a high return from it.

Mr. Smith reassured her, “Just wait for 4 months, and you will be getting your profit.”

Jessica nodded and smiled. If the profit finally landed, she vowed to challenge both Julia and Natalie, and she would get Marcus back.

In the Langstone sitting room, Natalie and Marcus were at the dining table eating. Then Natalie raised the issue concerning Jessica.

“I heard Jessica came to cause nonsense in the company today. I can have her arrested for it,” Natalie

said.

But Marcus scoffed it off. “She is just being childish, and her blabbing does me no harm.”

Natalie was so angry. She didn’t know why Marcus was being so soft with Jessica after everything she

had done to him.

Marcus then asked, “So, what about Mr. Smith, the scammer? Have you caught him?”

Natalie said, “Not yet. I am on it.” But in her mind, she had already made up that she would do nothing to help Jessica out of being scammed. She must feel the impact of her arrogance. She knew Marcus

would want to help her out.

Marcus was about to talk when he received a call from Julia, asking him to meet at a nearby restaurant for dinner. She had something to talk about.

Marcus’s eyes lit up seeing this, and he excused himself. “Sorry, Natalie, I have to go,” he said, already rising from the table.

Natalie noticed the spark in his eyes and smiled knowingly. “That must be Julia.”

Marcus nodded with a slight grin. “Yes.”

“So, when are you two making it official?” Natalie asked.

Marcus looked confused. “What do you mean, official?”

“Your engagement, of course. You already have the ring.”

Marcus scoffed. “It was a fake relationship. Nothing much.”

Natalie didn’t respond. She knew Marcus had deep feelings for Julia. He was even rushing now to meet

her. A pang of pain hit her chest. She also loved Marcus, but their sibling relationship created an impossible gap. She knew there was nothing she could do and could only wish him happiness.

Marcus left without another word.

At the restaurant, Julia was already waiting. Her face brightened when she saw Marcus. They sat down and started chatting comfortably.

“I got accepted for the branding project,” Julia said, beaming. “I’m so happy. But I hope you didn’t

influence it for me.”

Marcus scoffed lightly. “I would never do that. You’re just brilliant. You impressed Betty so much-that’s the reason she chose you.”

Julia smiled warmly and sighed in relief. They ordered food and continued chatting as they ate. Then Julia’s expression grew more serious. “The reason I called you here was about our engagement.”

Marcus gulped, suddenly tense.

“I think my family has softened on pushing me toward another man,” she continued. “So I just want to ask -what should we do with our engagement?”

Marcus gulped again and stayed silent, his mind racing.

“Actually, I…” Julia began, but she hadn’t finished when-

Vrrroom! Vrrroom!

The powerful roar of engines shattered the peaceful atmosphere. Bright headlights swept across the restaurant windows, shining intensely inside. Several sleek vehicles pulled up dramatically right in front. Diners turned their heads, murmuring in awe.

“Wow, isn’t that the new limited-edition Massareti hypercar?” someone exclaimed. “Look at it-so powerful and sleek!”

“I heard there are only ten in the entire city,” another voice added. “Whoever owns this must be insanely rich. Crazy rich!”

The distraction was immediate. Julia paused mid-sentence, and Marcus turned toward the window, curiosity flashing across his face.

The dramatic arrival had completely shifted the mood, leaving their unfinished conversation hanging in the air.

Julia sighed, saying, “Another crazy man showing off his wealth.”

Marcus nodded in agreement, still glancing at the gleaming hypercars outside. The dramatic arrival had pulled everyone’s attention away from their conversation. Moments later, Julia’s phone buzzed. She checked the message and sighed again. “Oh, I have to go. It’s from work.”

Marcus replied softly, “Oh.”
