Everyone was surprised by what Jessica was saying, and some of them were even starting to believe

her.

Jessica said, “He is just a pathetic man. Just because of one opportunity, he used it to punish me, even when they had already promised me the project would be mine.”

Marcus sighed and said, “Promised you? Who did that? We didn’t promise anyone anything, and whoever told you that is trying to scam you.”

Jessica didn’t listen and scoffed. “Scam me? Is that what you’re going with now? Let me tell you, no one is scamming me! In fact, I don’t even need this nonsense branding project. I’ve already landed an investment that will make me bigger than this, and I swear you’ll regret what you did today. Even Julia won’t be on my level anymore!”.

Marcus sighed heavily as he listened to Jessica rant.

Unlike everyone else in the room, he had a fairly good idea where all this confidence was coming from.

It was that mysterious Mr. Smith Travis had introduced to her.

Marcus scoffed because it was a scam. he knew.

Looking directly at her, he said, “Are you saying all this because of that man Travis introduced you to? Mr. Smith or whatever his name is?”

Jessica’s expression immediately hardened. she wondered how he knew Smith.

Marcus continued, “Jessica, that man is a scammer.”

The room fell silent.

For a second, Jessica simply stared at him before letting out a mocking laugh.

“A scammer?” she repeated. “There it is. I was wondering how long it would take for your insecurity to show itself.”

Marcus frowned.

Jessica pointed a finger at him.

“You’re jealous. That’s what this is. You’re jealous of Travis and everything he’s doing. You can’t stand seeing him getting successful!”.

Jessica continued arrogantly, “Mr. Smith is not a scammer. In fact, if you don’t believe me, go ask Natalie. She’ll tell you exactly who he is. Compared to Mr. Smith, she was practically a nobody.”

Marcus couldn’t help scoffing.

The woman standing before him sounded completely brainwashed.

Jessica glared at Marcus with pure contempt.

“And soon all the women you’re constantly lingering around will abandon you and realize how lonely and pathetic you are..”
