Chapter 116

* 1ER>*

The next morning, Marcus was still half asleep when his phone started ringing loudly beside him.

He frowned, reached for it blindly, and saw Natalie’s name flashing on the screen. He exhaled through his nose and answered.

“Hello Nat?” he muttered.

Natalie’s voice came sharp and immediate. “Come to the interrogation office.”

Marcus sat up slightly. “Why?”

“I caught the van driver.”

That made Marcus fully alert.

“What?” he said, sitting upright now.

“Yes,” Natalie replied. “Just get here.”

The call ended before he could ask anything else.

Marcus stared at the phone for a moment, confused. Just yesterday night the man had tried to kill him, and now, barely hours later, he was already caught?. Natalie was something else.

He clicked his tongue, got dressed quickly, and left.

When Marcus arrived at the interrogation office, the atmosphere inside was cold.

A man was tied tightly to a chair in the center of the room, his face bruised and his body trembling. His clothes were dirty, and there were visible signs that he had already been through harsh questioning.

Natalie stood nearby with her arms folded, her expression still tight with anger. she was so angry and felt like killing the man right there. How dare he tried to kill Marcus.

she had just lost Mr. Langstone and just healing from that, losing Marcus would make her lose hed mind.

Marcus frowned as he looked at her. “You actually got him already?”

Natalie didn’t even look impressed. “It wasn’t hard,” she said. “He tried to hide his trail, but we tracked him through CCTV, the local police helped also.”

Marcus scoffed lightly. “You’re good at this kind of thing.”

Natalie ignored the comment and gestured toward the man. “He is here, now talk.”

The driver lifted his head weakly, eyes red and panicked as he begged Marcus. “Please…” he stammered. “Tell them to stop. I’ll tell you everything.”

Marcus stepped closer, looking down at him. “Then start talking. Who sent you?”. Marcus was having this thought of maybe the killer of his father was behind this also.

The man swallowed hard, his voice breaking.

“It was Sancho… Sancho sent me.”

Marcus’s eyes narrowed instantly. “Sancho?”

“Yes,” the driver rushed. “He was angry… said you humiliated him last time. He paid me to run you off the road. I didn’t know you had this kind of power, I swear.”

Natalie’s expression darkened at once.

“That fucking family again,” she muttered under her breath.

Marcus turned slightly toward her. “You know them?”

Natalie clicked her tongue. “The Sancho family owns Aqsa Enterprises in Dubai. They were loud, rich, and very influential”

Marcus frowned. “Very influential? You mean like us?”

Natalie gave a cold smile. “Like us?. no no, that impossible, we are the biggest in this city, they don’t even get a chance. like I said, they are just loud”.

She added, ” People think they’re untouchable, but they’re not as strong as they pretend. In fact, Father already gathered enough information to destroy them in one move, He did this when they tried to mess with him. so he used that to caution them.”

Marcus paused slightly at that name.

“You still have that information?” he asked.

Natalie nodded. “Yes. If we release it, they will crash down bad, and become nothing!”

Before Marcus could respond, his phone buzzed again in his pocket.

He pulled it out and glanced at the screen.

Julia.

[Please come home right now. I need your help again. My mom won’t stop.]

Marcus stared at the message for a moment, then let out a sighed.

He knew what Julia meant, her nom won’t just stop introducing men to her even after they declare they were in relationship.

He had to go, since julia need his help. He told Natalie about this and said he would be right back and will find a proper way to deal with this sancho.
