Marcus scoffed inwardly at the scene unfolding before him. Just hours earlier, Sancho had been drooling over Julia like a lovesick fool, ranting about marriage, and he loved her.
Yet here he was, cornering a defenseless woman in her own store, his hands groping shamelessly at her body while she fought back. Two men in black suits-clearly his bodyguards-stood nearby, arms crossed./
Marcus had intended to ignore it at first. He wasn’t here for trouble; he needed those raw stones for his bracelet. But Sancho grew rougher, pinning the woman harder against the counter. She screamed, her voice cracking with desperation.
“Just let me be! Leave me alone!”
Marcus sighed deeply, his jaw tightening. He stepped forward, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade ” Wow. I can’t believe you can be this shameless.”
The words froze Sancho mid-action. He whipped around, eyes widening in recognition. His hands dropped from the woman’s chest and ass as he straightened up quickly. He knew he’d been caught red-handed.
“So you are tailing me around, motherfucker?” Sancho snarled, his face twisting into a mask of rage.
Marcus let out a cold scoff, his gaze steady and unyielding. “It’s not even up to two hours since you were yapping about wanting to marry Julia, and here you are sexually assaulting someone. And you actually believe you deserve someone like her?”
Sancho’s expression darkened further. He grinned maliciously, though fury burned in his eyes. “Shut the fuck up. This doesn’t change anything. Julia would still be mine. Either you like it or not! I will make her mine.”
The air grew thick with hostility as Marcus stepped forward. Sancho’s hitmen immediately tensed, hands inching toward hidden guns in their jackets.
Before the situation could explode, the store owner-a middle-aged woman, probably in her mid-40s-hurried forward, her voice trembling but professional. “Ohh, good evening sir. Please, how can I help you?”
She intentionally interrupted so Marcus wouldn’t be beaten for helping her out.
Marcus stared at Sancho for a moment, then turned to face the lady. Seeing her, he could tell she was obviously older than him, even older than Sancho, maybe by at least ten years. But she was still undeniably beautiful and sexy, which was why Sancho couldn’t control himself. Marcus couldn’t deny that she was pretty too.
He then said, “I would like to buy some raw stones.”
Hearing this made Sancho burst into laughter. “Really? Someone like you wants to deal with raw stones!”
Marcus frowned, not understanding what he meant by this.
Sancho leaned in closer, his voice laced with cruel amusement. “Raw stones business is for big businessmen in the city. It’s a pure gamble. You drop over a million dollars on two or three rocks, only to crack them open and find nothing-no gemstone worth a damn. Or worse, worthless junk that barely covers your losses. Only those with deep pockets, sharp eyes, years of experience, and real expertise dive into this. So tell me, poor guy, what the hell do you even know about stone dealing at all?”
Marcus replied coolly, “It’s none of your business.”
Sancho sneered louder. “You must have heard around how this fetches crazy money and thought, ‘Hell, easy pickings.’ Look at this poor joke standing here. wow, i can’t wait to see you wailing”

His bodyguards erupted in mocking laughter, their eyes gleaming with disdain.
The lady, sensing the rising tension, stepped forward with a grateful glance at Marcus. “I’m Sapphire by name. What he’s saying is true. If you’re not an expert in this, you don’t have to deal with it. There are over 400 stones here, and usually only about 10% contain anything valuable.”
Normally, Sapphire wouldn’t warn customers like this, but Marcus had stepped in to help her earlier/She felt indebted. “Smooth ones tend to hold gems more often, they are categorized that way. but Also, it not 100% accruate”
Hearing this made Marcus uncomfortable; he had no real knowledge of how it worked.
But he had to try anyway. “I know. Just let me check them.”
Meanwhile, Sancho kept abusing him with taunts. “This fool thinks he can catch anything.”
Sapphire walked Marcus to the back display where the stones were laid out in neat rows, grouped by texture and smoothness. There were dozens of sets, each pile tempting yet risky.
Just at that moment, Marcus felt a tingling in his wrist. It was his beads. He paused, concentrating, and the sensation grew stronger, like a gentle push guiding him.
It was as if the bracelet was directing him toward something specific. Marcus stopped at one particular stone, the tingling intensifying. He frowned as he picked it up.
The stone was exceptionally smooth. He thought if the beads needed gem energy to grow, maybe they could sense and recognize it—and that was exactly what was happening.
Marcus stated, “This… I want this”.
