“Aww… you know my name?” Sancho laughed mockingly over the phone. “I’m flattered.”

Marcus’ face darkened.

“How the hell did you get Jessica’s phone?” he demanded. “Where is she?”

Before Sancho could answer, a terrified scream echoed through the speaker. “Marcuuuus!”

Jessica’s voice was filled with panic.

“What the heck have you done now? Tell him we’re not a couple anymore! We broke up! I have nothing to do with him!”

Marcus frowned in confusion.

“Wait… you abducted Jessica?”

Sancho’s laughter turned cold.

“You think you can humiliate me like that? Threaten me? And I’ll just let you walk away?”

Marcus clenched his jaw.

“Look, you’re making a huge mistake. Jessica and I broke up a long time ago. She has nothing to do with me anymore. Just let her go.”

“Oh?” Sancho sneered. “So you really don’t care about her?”. He paused for a second before saying casually,

“Then I guess I’ll just kill her.”

Suddenly Jessica let out another piercing scream.

“They… they just pointed a gun at me!” she cried hysterically. “Marcus, please! Do whatever they say! I don’t want to die! I swear I know nothing about this!”

Marcus’ blood instantly boiled.

“Sancho…” he growled through gritted teeth. “I swear you’ll regret this.”

“What are you going to do?” Sancho mocked. “Show off your fighting skills again? I’ll let you know today that your fists mean absolutely nothing compared to my influence.”

Marcus took a deep breath before speaking.

“Fine. Tell me what you want.”

“Simple,” Sancho replied. “I’m sending you an address. Come there alone. And don’t forget to bring that Ruby Gem you luckily found today.”

His voice became deadly serious.

“If you try anything smart, I won’t hesitate to kill your little chick here.”

Marcus nodded even though Sancho couldn’t see him.

“Okay. Text me the location.”

“And remember…” Sancho’s tone dropped. “Alone. You heard me. Alone.” The call ended.

Natalie immediately stepped forward.

“What happened?”

Marcus lowered his phone and told her everything.

Natalie’s eyes widened.

“Wow… so he abducted Jessica of all people. Let’s call the police.”

Marcus shook his head.

“He threatened to kill her if I involve them.”

“But it’s dangerous if you go alone.” Natalie stared at him. “Don’t tell me you’re actually risking your life over her.

Marcus sighed.

“Natalie… she’s only there because of me.”

Natalie bit her lip.

She still couldn’t understand why Marcus would risk his life for someone who had already left him. This should be like pay time.

Several minutes later, Marcus arrived at the location Sancho had texted him.

Just as he had expected, it was an abandoned building.

Broken windows covered the walls while rusted steel beams hung from the cracked ceiling. The concrete floor was littered with shattered glass, broken bricks, and years of accumulated dust. The air smelled damp and moldy, and every footstep echoed through the empty structure. The silence was unsettling, broken only by the occasional drip of water somewhere in the darkness.

Marcus slowly walked inside, carefully observing every corner. Just then, his phone rang.

He answered immediately.

“I’m here. Where is she?”

Sancho chuckled. “Relax. I can see you.”

Marcus’ eyes narrowed as he scanned the building.

“I want your hands in the air,” Sancho continued. “Then go on your kneel.”

Marcus scoffed but slowly raised both hands before dropping to one knee.

A few seconds later, Sancho walked out from behind a concrete pillar with three muscular bodyguards following behind him.

Marcus looked straight at him.

“Where is Jessica?”

He lifted his phone.

“Don’t try anything funny. One phone call is all it takes for her to die. I don’t even need to give an order. I only have to press this call button.”

He showed Marcus the screen.

Then he looked at his bodyguards.

“Tie him up.”

The three men approached cautiously, watching Marcus closely in case he resisted.

Marcus remained perfectly still, allowing them to bind both his hands tightly behind his back and wrap thick ropes around his body and legs.

After making sure he couldn’t move freely, the bodyguards stepped back.

Sancho smiled with satisfaction.

“Now… where’s the Ruby Gem?”

Marcus remained calm.

“I already hid it.”

Sancho’s smile faded.

“And I won’t tell you where it is until you show me Jessica and I’m sure she’s safe.”

Sancho scoffed and shook his head.

His expression turned ice-cold.

“If you refuse to tell me where the Ruby Gem is, I swear I’ll make that call right now and have her killed.”

Marcus slowly lifted his head, meeting Sancho’s eyes without fear.

“Go ahead and kill her,” he said calmly. “Then you’ll never get the Ruby Gem either.”

Sancho narrowed his eyes.

Marcus continued, “How about this? Bring her here. Let me see that she’s alive, then I’ll tell you where the gem is.

Sancho stepped closer until they were only inches apart.

“Don’t play games with me,” he warned. ” Okay, i will bring her here, but don’t expect anything more, you will just see her here. and that she is fine, or else you know what happens.”

Marcus simply nodded.

Sancho gestured toward one of his bodyguards.

“Go get her.”
