Chapter 127
“What the heck have you done this time marcus?” Jessica cried out suddenly, her voice cracking. “What stone is he referring to? Just give him whatever it is! I don’t want to die!” Tears streamed down her cheeks as she struggled against the bodyguard’s grip.
Marcus glanced at her, his expression softening just a fraction. “Chill, Jessica. Nothing will happen to you,” he said steadily, his voice carrying a calm assurance that seemed out of place amid the armed men surrounding them.
He turned back to Sancho. “It’s in there. Under the container on the left side, just like I said.”
Sancho’s eyes narrowed suspiciously, but he nudged one of his burly bodyguards with his elbow. “Go check it.”
The man nodded and rushed out of the main area.
The tension in the air thickened as everyone waited. Marcus remained on his knees, unmoving, while Jessica whimpered softly, her body trembling.
Minutes later, the bodyguard returned, breathing heavily. In his hands was a small, velvet pouch. He handed it over to Sancho without a word. Sancho snatched it eagerly, opening the pouch with trembling fingers.
The Ruby Gem spilled into his palm, as it was shinning, his light reflections was all over place.
“Wow,” Sancho groaned in awe, holding it up to examine it closely. “Look at it blistering. You should have just sold it to me. I offered you 500 million dollars, but you refused. Uhn.” A satisfied smirk spread across his face as he turned the gem, admiring its facets.
Jessica blinked rapidly, confusion cutting through her fear. “What… what is going on here? Marcus, what is this about?”
Sancho laughed mockingly, gesturing with the gem. “Your fiancé here-oh, your ex-fiancé managed to get lucky in stone cutting and unearthed this beauty. Instead of selling it to me for 500 million dollars, he chose to humiliate me. Publicly. Like I was nothing.”
Jessica’s face twisted in anger as she whirled on Marcus. “Marcus, are you stupid? You turned down that kind of money? For what? you get luck to be rich and you turn it down”
“Well yeah,” Sancho interjected with a sneer. “He is stupid. And now I’ve got the stone for free, and I will still kill him, for looking down on me like that.”
Jessica’s eyes widened in fresh panic as she screamed at marcus. “Get it over with! You already have your stone. Just let us go. Why would you kill him now?”
Sancho’s expression hardened into something cruel and final. “If I let him live, he will always come back asking for the stone. I don’t want all that trouble. This ends here.”
“No, no, no… he won’t, I assure that” Jessica pleaded, her voice rising into a wail as Sancho turned to face his men.
“Kill him,” he ordered coldly.
Marcus knelt there, his posture straight despite the bindings, a quiet confidence radiating from him that unnerved even some of the armed guards.
Before the men could move forward, he spoke up firmly. “Before that, just let her go first. She doesn’t have to witness the gruesome scene.”
Sancho paused, tilting his head with mock surprise. “Awwwn. How touching.” He chuckled lowly. “Well,

whatever you want.”
Turning to Jessica, his voice dropped to a menacing whisper. “Don’t you dare mention what happened here today. Remember who I am. Sancho. I will certainly get away with it, and I will come find you and kill you if you breathe a word.”
Jessica nodded frantically, her face pale with fright. Sancho signaled to his men, who began dragging her away toward the exit. She dug her heels in desperately, still trying to negotiate. “I will make sure he doesn’t talk and doesn’t come back to you! Just let him live, please!”
“You should be grateful I am merciful enough to let you go, and you’re still demanding more?” Sancho snapped, his patience wearing thin.
Jessica fell silent, but Marcus met her eyes one last time. “Just go. Already.”
Tears fell freely from Jessica’s eyes as the guards pulled her further away. She cried out profusely, begging them to spare Marcus. “Please! Don’t do this!”
Her voice echoed through the building until she eas dragged out completely.
Sancho watched her departure with a twisted smile. “You both call yourselves exes. But it seems you still care for each other. How pathetic.”
Marcus didn’t flinch. “Enjoy it while you can. It won’t last.”
Sancho scoffed, clearly believing it was nothing more than a desperate bluff: “Kill him already,” he commanded, waving dismissively at his men.
At that exact moment, Sancho’s phone buzzed loudly in his pocket. He frowned, pulling it out and glancing at the
screen.
It was from Mr. Derek-his father.
“You might want to pick that call,” Marcus said evenly, still kneeling amid the circle of armed men.
Sancho glared at him. “This has nothing to do with you.”
“You will know that after picking it,” Marcus replied, his voice laced with subtle certainty.
Grumbling, Sancho answered the call. Immediately, a furious voice lashed out from the speaker. “Hey, you stupid bastard crazy child! Where the hell are you?”
Sancho froze, stunned. His father had never spoken to him that way-never with such raw anger. “Father? What’s wrong?”
