Marcus was surprised. “Really?”

Natalie let out a small laugh. “Yes. And since you already know, I guess that explains why you are calling, right?”
Marcus scoffed softly. “You would think so. But no. I just found out now.” His voice hardened as he continued, walking her through everything that had just happened-Jessica, Damien, the insult, and the firing.
There was a brief silence on the other end.
Then Natalie spoke, her tone turning sharp. “She did that? That’s… unbelievable. She’s worse than I imagined.”
Marcus’s eyes darkened. “Yeah. And I’m going to make her regret it.”
“Good,” Natalie replied immediately.
Marcus exhaled slowly. “Call the manager. Tell him, from the owner, Damien is not to be fired. And also… Jessica and Travis are not allowed to dine here anymore.” He wanted their membership cancelled with immediate effect.
Natalie didn’t hesitate. “Done.”
Marcus paused, then added, “But Damien already has issues here. It won’t be comfortable for him to stay. Can we transfer him somewhere better?”
Natalie hummed thoughtfully. “Actually, yes. The Waterfall Grand Hotel is also one of your properties. We can move him there.” The Waterfall Grand Hotel was another big asset in the city. Even bigger than red dragon.
Marcus’s brows lifted. “Really?”
“And not just as a waiter,” she continued. “He can take the position of lobby manager.”
A smile spread across Marcus’s face. “That’s perfect.”
“I will handle it right now,” Natalie said. “Everything will be arranged right now!!!.”
“Thanks,” Marcus said quietly before ending the call.
He slipped his phone back into his pocket and walked back to Damien.
Damien quickly wiped his face and forced a smile. “Hey… don’t worry about me. We can always celebrate some other time. I will also find another job.” His voice cracked slightly, but he kept it together. “Let’s just leave through the back. No need for more embarrassment.”
Marcus looked at him and smiled calmly. “No. We are leaving through the front. We have done nothing wrong.”

Damien hesitated, but Marcus grabbed his arm and pulled him along playfully.
They walked out together.
As they stepped outside, they froze.
The same manager who sacked Damien stood a few steps away, sweating heavily, his face pale and even a stranger could know something was wrong with him. He approached Jessica and Travis with
urgency.
“Miss… please,” he stammered, bowing slightly. “You… you need to leave immediately. You both”
Jessica frowned. “What?!”
“I’m sorry,” the manager said quickly, his voice shaking. “This is a direct order… from the owner of this place.”
Jessica let out a sharp, disbelieving laugh. “Impossible, how would the owner want us to leave!.”
The manager swallowed but forced himself to nod. “Yes, ma’am. You and your guest. And… your membership will be canceled effective immediately. You are not to step foot in here again.”
Silence crashed over the entrance.
Jessica’s face went pale for half a second before anger flooded in, hot and uncontrollable. “Have you lost your mind?”
Beside her, Travis exploded. “Do you even know who you’re talking to?” he barked, stepping forward aggressively. “She is the heiress of the Morgan family! We are VIPs here!”
His voice was so loud that he made people turn. Eyes locked onto them.
Damien blinked in confusion, looking between Marcus, the manager, and Jessica. “What the hell is going on?” he muttered under his breath. “Didn’t he just take their side a moment ago…?”. He told Marcus who only just smiled.
The shift made no sense.
Jessica’s chest rose and fell sharply as humiliation mixed with fury. “This is nonsense,” she snapped.” You think you can humiliate me like this and get away with it?”
The manager straightened. “Just so you know,” he said firmly, “this restaurant belongs to the Langston family! the Langston family is the owner”
That name hit like a hammer.
Jessica froze.
Travis’s expression flickered.
“And if you continue to cause a scene,” the manager added coldly, “I will have you thrown out in most

embarrassing way possible”
Jessica gulped. She did not dare cause a scene. Not here. Not with that name hanging in the air.
The Langston family.
They were not people you argued with. They were people who erased you quietly if you crossed the line. She knew that. Everyone did. The Morgan family was just like an ant compared to them.
Jessica muted.
Just then, Marcus’s calm voice cut through the tension.
“Well,” he said, tilting his head slightly, “look who is lost here. I guess you stepped on someone’s nerves.”
Jessica snapped her head toward him. “Shut up. What do you know?”
Marcus’s lips curved faintly. “I know a lot. Like what’s happening to you right now.”
Her eyes burned. “Stop this bullshit, Marcus.” She scoffed harshly. “So you are telling me you are influential enough to have the owner of this place throw me out?”
She stepped closer, her voice dripping with venom. “Let me say this clearly so it gets into your thick skull. You are nothing. A fucking nobody. A lowlife who can’t even breathe the same air as a Langston maid.”
The words came out sharp and cruel. She was so angry that she couldn’t hold back.
