The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 132

Chapter 132

“Wait… wait.”

Mr. Alfred hurriedly raised his hand, stopping Julia before she could leave.

“Your condition is unfair. This is still my company. As the chairman, I should have the authority to appoint or remove any executive whenever I see fit.”

Julia looked at him calmly.

“You’re right. it is your company, but it’s also the Alfred family’s business.”

She slowly glanced around the room.

“If the company falls, every one of you sitting here will be affected. That includes you, Grandfather.”

Victoria could no longer contain herself. She shot to her feet. “And who do you think you are?” she snapped.

“This family can survive perfectly well without you!”

Julia couldn’t help but scoff.

“Oh? then why am I here? you were the ones who kicked me out. Now the company is standing on the brink of collapse, and you’re begging me to come back.”

“If the board of directors discovers that we’ve lost our backing from the Langstone family, do you know what they’ll do? so for the moment, you can’t survive without me”.

Everyone’s expressions became increasingly ugly.

Deep down, they knew she wasn’t exaggerating.

Truthfully…

If not for Julia’s years of hard work maintaining the relationship with the Langstone family, the Alfred Group would’ve already been in serious trouble.

Mr. Alfred slowly closed his eyes. After a long silence, he let out a helpless sigh.

He couldn’t deny it. Julia had always been responsible.

She had never abused her authority as COO, and under her leadership the company had grown steadily.

Giving her job security wouldn’t hurt the company at all. If not for her stubbornness to marry Marcus, he would have even given her the company leadership. She was his favourite.

Finally, he nodded.

“Fine. I accept your condition. i will I have our legal department draft an employment contract guaranteeing your position for three years. Unless you violate company policy or commit gross misconduct, no one will remove you.”

Julia gave a satisfied nod.

“Good. in that case, I’ll do everything I can to ensure the partnership with the Langstone family continues.”

She then looked around the room one last time.

“And one more thing. my marriage.I don’t want anyone interfering with it ever again, I will marry Marcus, so

from today onward, no one in this family will try to stop me.”

Although everyone was burning with resentment inside, they all nodded. Mr. Alfred forced a smile.

“You have our word.”

Marcus couldn’t help smiling.

Seeing Julia stand up for herself filled him with pride.

She was no longer the woman who silently endured every injustice.

Julia rose to her feet.

“Then I wil begin looking for a way to smooth things over with the Langstone family.”

She gave a polite nod. “Thank you for inviting me back.”

Without another word, she and Marcus walked out of the mansion together.

The moment the door closed behind them, Steve slammed his fist onto the table.

“This is ridiculous! We’re letting her control this family!”

Victoria shouted, “Grandfather, how could you agree to such a condition? You’re still alive, yet you’re practically handing the company over to her!”

Before Mr. Alfred could answer, Ms. Lena spoke-up.

“Enough! My daughter is more than capable, ever since Julia started taking an active role in the company, our profits have increased by over forty percent.”

“Whether you like it or not…she is one of this family’s greatest assets.”

Victoria snorted.

“That’s only because she has connections with the Langstone family. What if those connections disappear one day? what if the Langstones abandon her or go into wreck the same way Sancho got wrecked?”

“Are we supposed to keep relying on her forever?”

Mrs. Alfred sighed. “Victoria has a point… But at the moment, we don’t have another choice.”

Victoria’s eyes suddenly lit up.

“Grandfather. Don’t sign the Executive Employment Agreement just yet. if that agreement is signed, Julia’s position as COO will be protected for three years. give me some time.”

Mr. Alfred narrowed his eyes.

“What do you mean?”

Victoria smiled confidently. “I’m certain I can find another way to establish a relationship with the Langstone family without relying on Julia.”

“If I succeed…” She lifted her chin proudly. “I will become the company’s COO instead and there’ll be no need to sign any agreement of me being permanent unlike Julia.”

Mr. Alfred leaned back in his chair, his brows furrowing as he carefully considered her proposal.

Mr. Alfred remained silent for a long moment.

The truth was, he didn’t trust Victoria nearly as much as he trusted Julia.

Julia had already proven herself over the years. She was responsible, capable, and had never abused her authority. Victoria, on the other hand, had contributed very little to the company. Making her COO could easily create more problems than solutions.

Still, if Victoria could reconnect the Alfred family with the Langstone family without accepting Julia’s condition, then everything would work in his favor. Unlike Julia, Victoria wouldn’t ask for a three-year employment guarantee. If she ever proved incompetent, he could simply remove her.

After thinking it over, he slowly nodded.

“Okay, we’ll do it your way for now,” he said. “But you must be quick. If you fail to restore our relationship with the Langstone family, I’ll immediately sign Julia’s Executive Employment Agreement.”

Victoria smiled confidently. “Don’t worry, Grandfather. I won’t disappoint you.”

Ms. Lena frowned deeply.

She clearly disliked the arrangement, but seeing that Mr. Alfred had already made up his mind, she remained silent.

Standing quietly in the corner, Steve clenched his fists.

As the eldest grandson, he was supposed to be the future heir of the Alfred family.

Yet whenever the company’s future was discussed, no one even bothered asking for his opinion.

Compared to Julia and Victoria… he was practically invisible.

The thought made his expression grow even uglier.
