Chapter 140.
Marcus instantly made his way there. He didn’t take long-maybe fifteen minutes after the call, he arrived at the
scene.
As he reached the neighborhood square, he saw the leader of the gang standing boldly with his men. This time, they hadn’t beaten anyone yet. The residents were shouting at them, trying to scare them off while holding their own makeshift weapons-sticks, iron rods, and stones.
One elderly man yelled, “Why isn’t the police here yet!”
Another added angrily, “Why can’t you leave us alone or pay us what you should?”
Marcus stepped forward calmly. “I should have follow up with the police yesterday so I could make sure you ge locked up forever.”
The thugs turned as their leader faced Marcus and grinned wickedly. “Yes, finally. You are here. I have been waiting for you.”
The people erupted in joy, shouting, “Our hero! Our hero!”
“He is here! you are all doom!”
Meanwhile, upstairs on the first floor overlooking the ground, Six stood hidden in the shadows. He was here to carry out Master Jace’s instructions. But first, he wanted to see how this man fought.
Back on the ground, Marcus warned firmly, “Just leave here while you can, or else I will break your bones, make the police arrest you, and ensure you are locked up forever.”
The leader laughed. “You are running your mouth because of yesterday, but that isn’t happening today. Because we are twice the number.” With that, the thugs spread out in front of him. Truly, there were about forty of them, heavily armed with knives, bats, and deadly weapons, far more than yesterday.
The residents whispered fearfully. “Truly they are much. Can he handle everyone?”
Another added, “What the heck is the police taking this long.”
The leader smirked. “Our boss was impressed by what you did yesterday and is willing to take you in as one of his close lackeys. High payment. So, you have two choices now. Follow us to him peacefully to work for him, or we will make you go to him half dead.”
Marcus smirked. “Good thing I impressed him. I am planning on doing much more of it today also.”
The leader grinned. “You think you can handle forty of us?”
Marcus was confident. “Easy. peasy.”
The leader scoffed, then faced his men. “I want him here. Alive, but barely breathing.”
With a roar, the thugs charged at him all at once, weapons raised. Knives slashed through the air, bats swung viciously, and fists flew from multiple directions. Marcus closed his eyes briefly and activated the bracelet’s
power.
A surge of energy coursed through his veins, sharpening his senses and enhancing his speed and strength.
He moved like lightning. The first three attackers lunged with knives. Marcus sidestepped effortlessly, grabbing one’s wrist and twisting it until the bone snapped. He spun and delivered a powerful kick to the second’s chest, sending him crashing into two others. The third received an elbow strike to the jaw that dropped him instantly.

More came rushing. Marcus ducked under a swinging bat, swept the legs of two thugs, and punched the third so hard in the gut that he vomited blood.
He grabbed a fallen knife and used its blunt end to disarm others, breaking arms and smashing knees with precise, brutal efficiency.
His movements were a blur-punches landing before enemies could react, kicks shattering ribs and sending bodies flying.
A group of five tried surrounding him with machetes. Marcus exploded forward, his enhanced strength allowing him to grab one by the collar and hurl him into the others like a bowling ball. He disarined the rest in seconds, collecting their weapons and piling them up. Blood sprayed as he delivered devastating blows, breaking jaws, fracturing limbs, and leaving men groaning on the ground.
Marcus weaved through the chaos, his fists a storm of power. In under five minutes, all forty lay defeated — some unconscious, others writhing in pain, their weapons rounded up in a neat pile beside him.
The leader stood there in shock as he saw his men writhing on the floor in pain. This strange man had really beaten all forty of them single-handedly.
The residents shouted joyfully, “Yes! Our hero did it again!”
Another added excitedly, “Look at how he moves. He just doesn’t want to kill them. He is stronger than Superman!”
The crowd hailed him with cheers and applause.
Marcus walked closer to the leader, who instinctively stepped back, eyes wide with terror. “Who the heck are you? Why are you this strong? Don’t come closer! Don’t come closer!”
Everyone laughed at him. “Look at the big man now shaking like a leaf!” one resident mocked. ” you were brave before, now you see someone that is capable of dealing with you, you’re begging!”
Another shouted, “Coward! Run back to your master and tell him we have our protector!” The crowd continued abusing the terrified leader, throwing insults and jeers until he looked utterly humiliated.
Meanwhile, from the top floor, Six smirked. “That wasn’t ordinary. He is definitely a cultivator.”
With that, he leaped from where he stood.
Thud!
He made a dramatic entry, dropping heavily in the middle between Marcus and the leader. Dust rose around him as the impact shook the ground.
Everyone gasped. “Mmm, who is he?”
