The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 143

chapter 143

As Jessica arrived at the towering Langstone headquarters. Jessica managed to struck an opportunity.

Natalie was just stepping out of her sleek black car, adjusting her tailored blazer as she prepared to enter the building. Seizing the moment, Jessica rushed forward, her heels clicking sharply against the pavement.

“Hey! Hey!” she shouted, drawing curious glances from passersby and security guards nearby.

Natalie turned at the noise. The moment she spotted Jessica, her expression hardened. She tried to walk past, but Jessica darted in front of her, blocking her path. “Hey, wait!”

Natalie stopped, visibly annoyed. She frowned deeply. “What the heck is this? What do you think you are doing”

Jessica stood her ground, breathing heavily. “I requested to meet you last time and you refused. Now here we are.

Natalie’s eyes flashed with irritation. “That should have given you common sense that I don’t want to see you!”

“Look, I’m not here to cause a scene,” Jessica insisted, though her raised voice was already doing exactly that.” Just tell me where Mr. Smith is. I’ve been unable to contact him for over a week.”

Natalie frowned, crossing her arms. “Mr. Smith? Who is that?”

Jessica’s face twisted in disbelief. “Don’t you try to play clueless. Your superior-one of your board leaders!”

Natalie gazed at her coldly and shook her head. “I have no idea what you are saying.” She turned to leave, but Jessica spread her arms wide, blocking the entrance.

“You have no idea? We really met that day, and i even used him to abuse you. I know you’re still angry because of that. That’s why you don’t want to tell me. But you have to right now. I made some investments in one of Langstone’s projects! And you know how damaging this would be if I go viral with it.”

By now, several employees and visitors had stopped to watch the unfolding drama. Natalie’s expression shifted. Instead of anger, a cold smirk slowly spread across her face.

“Really?” she said, her voice laced with mockery. “You will go public with it?”

“Yes,” Jessica shot back defiantly. “So let’s just avoid any trouble and call Mr. Smith right now.”

Natalie let out a short, bitter laugh. “Oh, go ahead. Make your stupidity known to the entire world.”

Jessica frowned, confusion mixing with her anger. “What are you saying?”

“What I’m saying is that you are very stupid, arrogant, and you have been scammed. There is no Mr. Smith among our board leaders.”

Jessica blinked repeatedly, her face frozen in disbelief.

“…Stop joking with me.”

Her voice had lost some of its confidence.

“Mr. Smith is definitely one of your board leaders. I met him that day. In fact, I met several of your board members. And you were there too.”

Natalie took a slow step forward, folding her arms.

“And that’s exactly why you fooled yourself,” she said calmly. “After they lied to you about me, you believed every

word they said.”

Jessica frowned. “What?”

“They’re all scammers,” Natalie continued. “Every single one of them are paid actors. None of them has any connection to the Langstone family or this company.”

Jessica stared at her, unable to respond.

Natalie pointed toward the headquarters behind her.

“That day, I had already received information that someone was using the Langstone name to scam people. I came here to deal with him. I intended to have him arrested that very day.”

She let out a cold laugh. “But then you showed up. You saw me there and assumed he is my superior and that was the reason i couldn’t enter. you are so foolish.”

Jessica’s lips parted. “So… Mr. Smith…”

:Mr. Smith-or whatever his real name is-is a scammer,” Natalie interrupted. “And you have been scammed.”

The words struck Jessica like a hammer.

Her breathing became uneven. “No…”

Her head slowly shook.

“No… that’s impossible…”

Natalie simply watched her.

Jessica mumbled under her breath as though trying to convince herself.

“He… he’s genuine.”

Natalie’s eyebrow rose.

“He helped Travis before. in fact, he had helped me many times in trouble. sending armies over to save me that day i was abducted.”

Natalie remained silent.

Everything Jessica described had actually been Marcus’s doing.

Marcus had solved those problems while Travis took all the credit. Later, Travis had simply transferred those achievements to the fictional “Mr. Smith.”

Because Marcus’s identity was meant to remain hidden, Natalie had no intention of exposing the truth.

She merely looked at Jessica with pity.

“Keep deceiving yourself if that’s what makes you happy,” she said coldly. “Stay stupid.”

She turned and began walking toward the entrance.

Jessica suddenly rushed after her.

“Please! Wait! Wait!”

Natalie stopped without turning around.

Jessica’s voice trembled.

“That day… did you catch him?”

A faint smirk appeared on Natalie’s face as she slowly looked back.

“Well…i was about to.”

She paused deliberately before adding, “…until you provoked me.”

Jessica’s heart skipped as Natalie’s smile widened.

“So I decided he should scam you instead.”

Jessica’s eyes widened to their limits. Her entire body trembled.

“No… No… no… this is crazy. you’re lying.”

She grabbed her own hair with both hands as panic spread across her face.

“This can’t be happening!”

Several employees exchanged awkward glances while others pulled out their phones to watch the commotion.
