She collapsed onto a nearby bench, burying her face in both hands as heartbreaking sobs echoed through the police station. Everything was gone-her savings, her investments, and the future she had dreamed of.
Outside the station, a journalist who had come searching for a different story happened to witness Jessica’s emotional collapse. Recognizing that something significant had happened, he discreetly raised his phone and began recording from a distance, capturing every tear and every desperate cry without drawing attention to himself. He knew this could become tomorrow’s biggest headline.

Jessica dragged herself home, each step feeling heavier than the last. Her eyes were swollen from crying, and her face was pale with despair. By the time she pushed open the front door, she looked like a completely different
person.
The sound of the door immediately caught Travis’s attention. He hurried over with an eager smile.
“Jessica! So, how did it go? Did you finally see Mr. Smith?”
Smack!
The sharp slap echoed through the house.
Travis stumbled backward, clutching his burning cheek in complete shock
Before he could react, Jessica grabbed him violently by the front of his shirt
“Where is Mr. Smith?” she screamed, tears streaming down her face. “You will take me to him right now, or I’ll throw you out onto the streets!”
Mrs. Morgan, who had been in the living room, rushed over in alarm.
“Jessica! What happened?”
Jessica turned toward her, sobbing uncontrollably.
“Mr. Smith is a scammer!” she cried. “He’s been using the Langstone family’s name to con people. The police have been hunting him for months!”. She explained everything to them.
Mrs. Morgan’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“What?”
Even Travis looked stunned.
“That’s… that’s impossible,” he stammered.
Jessica spun back toward him, fury blazing in her tear-filled eyes.
“Impossible?” she shouted. “Who kept pressuring me to invest? Who kept acting like his mouthpiece every single time I hesitated?”
Travis opened his mouth but couldn’t answer.
“You were the one who insisted he was trustworthy! You kept telling me he had connections to the Langstone family. You even claimed he was the one who sent those armed men to rescue me that day!”
Her grip tightened on his shirt.
“You bragged over and over that you knew someone from Langstone!”
