Chapter 163
Meanwhile, Marcus stood beside Julia at the grand entrance of her new residence, watching the disbelief written across her face. The Senate President had not only publicly endorsed her work but had also gifted her a mansion in Hera Estate, the most prestigious residential district in the entire city.
It was a place where billionaires, award-winning celebrities, influential politicians, and business magnates lived- behind layers of elite security. Ordinary people could only dream of entering its gates.
The mansion before them was enormous, rising three stories high with elegant white stone walls, towering glass windows, and a roof designed with luxurious European architecture. A long paved driveway stretched from the entrance gate to the front steps, lined on both sides with colorful flower beds blooming with roses, lilies, tulips, and lavender.
Palm trees swayed gently in the breeze while decorative fountains sent crystal-clear water dancing into the air. Even from the outside, the mansion looked like something straight out of a royal palace.
Julia slowly walked forward, almost afraid to touch anything, as though she feared the entire place would disappear if she blinked. Her eyes wandered across every detail, from the perfectly trimmed hedges to the marble pathways reflecting the afternoon sunlight.
At the center of the spacious compound stood an enormous lion statue resting proudly on a polished black pedestal. As Julia drew closer, the lion gleamed brilliantly beneath the sun, its surface sparkling with an almost blinding golden glow.
Her breathing became uneven as she reached out with trembling fingers to touch it.
“Is… is this real gold?” she whispered, her heart pounding wildly. She rubbed the statue again before laughing nervously. “No… there’s no way. Why would anyone make a statue out of gold? If this is real, it would be worth over ten million dollars. Nobody would spend ten million dollars just to build a lion statue.”
Marcus simply smiled to himself. He knew the statue was indeed pure gold because he had personally commissioned it. To him, no amount of money was too much if it ensured Julia would never lack wealth again. Somewhere along the way, he had completely fallen in love with her, and doing things like this no longer felt extravagant-it felt natural.
They continued their tour and stepped through the magnificent double doors into the mansion. Julia stopped instantly, completely speechless. The entrance hall alone was larger than the apartment she had lived in all her life. A crystal chandelier hung from the impossibly high ceiling, scattering shimmering lights across polished white marble floors.
Two elegant staircases curved upward on opposite sides, meeting at a balcony overlooking the grand hall. Luxurious paintings decorated the walls, while expensive sculptures and handcrafted ornaments filled every corner with sophistication.
The living room featured oversized cream-colored sofas surrounding a marble coffee table, facing a massive fireplace and a wall-sized television. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked a beautifully landscaped backyard where a swimming pool sparkled beside a private garden.
Julia wandered through the house with tears gradually forming in her eyes. After several long moments, she turned toward Marcus, her lips trembling into a smile. “I… I never believed I would own something like this in my entire life. Not even in my wildest dreams. Marcus… this doesn’t even feel real.”
Marcus smiled gently at her, his expression warm and sincere. “You deserved it, Julia. You earned every bit of this through your talent, your hard work”.

Unable to contain herself any longer, Julia rushed forward and wrapped both arms tightly around Marcus. “Thank you for staying by my side all this time. You kept believing in me when I couldn’t even believe in myself. I… I’m so grateful to have you.”
Marcus embraced her just as tightly, gently stroking her back while a peaceful smile appeared on his face. Neither of them spoke for several minutes. They simply remained there.
Eventually, Julia slowly pulled away, though her hands remained in his. She sniffled softly before lowering her eyes, a deep blush spreading across her cheeks.
She smiled shyly for a few moments before finally looking back at him. “Marcus… I have something I want to tell you.”
Marcus frowned slightly in curiosity. “What’s that?”
Julia inhaled deeply, her heartbeat echoing loudly in her ears. She looked into his eyes, gathered every ounce of courage she possessed, and finally spoke. “I…” Before another word could leave her lips, Marcus’s phone suddenly rang, the sharp ringtone breaking the moment and leaving both of them frozen in place.
Ding Ding
Marcus let out a quiet sigh and glanced at Julia apologetically. “Please wait a moment,” he said gently. He was about to decline the call, unwilling to let anyone interrupt this moment, but the instant his eyes landed on the caller ID, his expression changed.
It was the elderly woman from the community-the one he had given his number. She would never call him unless something had happened.
Marcus immediately looked back at Julia. “Excuse me. I have to take this.”
Julia smiled softly and nodded. “Go ahead.”
Marcus walked several meters away before answering the call. “Hello.”
He expected to hear the old woman’s worried voice.
Instead, a strange man’s cold laughter echoed from the other end.
“Hello, pal!”
The voice was arrogant, almost playful, carrying a hint of madness.
Marcus’ brows knitted together as his expression darkened. “Who the fuck are you?”
The man chuckled. “Make a wild guess.”
For a brief second, Marcus remained silent. Then his eyes narrowed sharply as recognition struck him.
It was one of the cultivators he had fought earlier. That beat him to pulp.
His killing intent erupted instantly.
“Don’t you dare touch her,” Marcus growled, his voice frighteningly calm. “Or else… I will kill you.”
On the other end, Six smiled as though he had just heard a joke.
“Whether I touch her or not depends entirely on you,” he said casually. “Looks like it’s finally time to finish you off.”
