The Disguised Billionaire She Rejected novel Chapter 167

Chapter 167

Marcus stood silently beside Six’s lifeless body for several moments. His eyes remained fixed on the corpse as he let out a slow sigh. Although he had won the battle, there wasn’t the satisfaction he had expected.

He had hoped to learn who was truly pulling the strings behind everything. Instead, Six had taken that secret with him to the grave.

Marcus shook his head lightly.

“It doesn’t matter,” he muttered. “It’s only a matter of time before I find out.”

He bent down, pulled his sword free from Six’s head, and wiped the blood from the blade with a torn piece of cloth lying nearby. After returning the sword to its sheath, he turned around and walked deeper into the abandoned factory.

He left Six’s body where it lay.

Sooner or later, whoever worked with him would come looking for him.

It didn’t take Marcus long to find the elderly woman.

She was tied tightly to a metal chair inside a small storage room, her hands and feet bound with thick ropes. The moment she saw Marcus walk through the doorway, tears immediately welled up in her eyes.

“Mr. Marcus!” she cried.

Marcus quickly walked over and untied the ropes around her wrists and ankles.

The instant she was free, the old woman threw her arms around him.

“That bastard…” she said, her voice trembling. “He wanted to lure you here. You shouldn’t have come. He was terrifying. I was so afraid he would kill you.”

Marcus smiled reassuringly as he gently patted her shoulder. “It’s alright,” he said. “I’ve already taken care of him.”

The old woman pulled back and stared at him in disbelief. “Really?”

Marcus nodded. “Really.” A relieved smile spread across her wrinkled face.

“I knew it,” she said proudly. “Our Superman can deal with anyone and anything.”

Marcus couldn’t help chuckling softly.

“Let’s get you out of here first.”

The old woman nodded.

Marcus deliberately chose another route through the factory, making sure she wouldn’t see Six’s corpse.

There was no reason for her to witness something so gruesome.

Together, they quietly left the abandoned building.

Meanwhile, in a luxurious private room on the other side of the city, the atmosphere had become unusually heavy.

Hades, the second cultivators had just returned.

His clothes were stained with dust, and his expression was darker than ever. He had gone to look for him, after several hours had passed and he hadn’t returned.

But now, he had finally found him.

Mr. Jace immediately stood up the moment he saw him.

“So?” he asked impatiently. “Did you find Six? Where the heck has he been all this time?”

Hades lowered his head slightly before answering.

“I found him.”

Mr. Jace frowned. “Then where is he?”

Hades slowly looked up. “He’s dead.”

The room instantly fell silent. Mr. Jace’s eyes widened in shocked.

“What?”

His voice rose several degrees.

“Dead? Six is dead?”

For several seconds, he simply stared at Hades as though he had heard something impossible. “Who

killed him?” he demanded.

Hades took a deep breath.

“Judging from the scene… it was Marcus. the man that has been obstructing us, and supposed to kill”.

“Marcus?” Mr. Jace repeated in disbelief. “That ordinary cultivator?”

Hades nodded slowly. “Yes.”

Mr. Jace slammed his fist onto the table.

Bang!

“Impossible!”

His face twisted with fury.

“Six was far stronger than an ordinary cultivator. How could he possibly lose to that nobody?”

Hades remained silent for a moment before speaking again. “It wasn’t just a defeat. it was brutal.”

“He suffered serious injuries before he died. From what I saw… Marcus is far stronger than we originally

estimated.”

Mr. Jace remained seated quietly, his fingers tapping rhythmically against the wooden table. The room was so silent that each tap echoed clearly through the air. His expression remained calm, but the coldness in his eyes revealed the storm raging inside him.

After a long while, he finally sighed and shook his head. “I still can’t believe it. Six… actually died.”

Hades lowered his head for a brief moment before replying. “I found his corpse myself. There was no mistake. It was really him.”

His fists tightened until his veins bulged.

“I’ve fought beside Six for years. I know exactly how strong he was. Yet… he still lost.”

The thought alone filled him with unbearable rage.

He suddenly took a step forward and looked directly at Mr. Jace.

“Master, let me go. Give me the order. I swear I’ll deliver Marcus’ head right here and place it on this table. I’ll make him pay for what he did to Six.”

Mr. Jace didn’t answer.

He simply continued tapping the table with the same slow rhythm.
