Chapter 200

Marcus stared at the anonymous number for a few seconds, wondering who could possibly be calling him at a time like this. He slowly picked up the phone and answered.
A voice came through the speaker, low and unsettling.
“Hellooo, Marcus.”
Marcus’s expression immediately hardened. For a brief moment, he wondered if the caller could be Jackson, considering everything that had just happened with the Langstone family.
“Who the heck is this?”
“You will get to know me.” The cranky voiced came.
Marcus frowned. There was something about the man’s voice that immediately made him uneasy. Before he could ask another question, the stranger continued.
“Switch to a video call. I have something to show you.”
Marcus hesitated for a moment before doing exactly as he was told. The screen changed, and the moment the video appeared, his eyes widened.
Julia.
She was inside a store, apparently shopping and completely unaware of what was happening. But Marcus immediately noticed the red crosshair moving across the screen. A sniper was aiming directly at
her.
“What the fuck?” Marcus’s expression changed instantly. “Who the heck are you?”
His voice became cold. “If you try to kill her, I swear I’ll kill you too. Slowly and painfully.”
The stranger gave a quiet chuckle. “Hey, this isn’t the time for threats. You don’t even know who I am. If I put a bullet through your girlfriend’s head right now, I’ll walk away with it.”
Marcus’s fists tightened. He wanted nothing more than to find whoever was behind the call and tear him apart, but he knew the situation was different now. The man had a sniper trained on Julia, and Marcus had no idea what else to do.
He slowly inhaled and forced himself to calm down.
“What do you want?” he asked. “Don’t touch her.”
“Yes. That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.” The man’s voice became slightly more relaxed. “So I’ll tell you what I want. It’s simple. You’re going to come to a location I’ll give you. Alone.”
Marcus remained silent.
“I have my eyes on you right now. If you make any funny moves, I’ll know. So don’t press anything on

your phone after this call ends. Don’t try to contact anyone. Just put it away and come straight to the 24. Birthway street”
The man then gave him an address.
Marcus memorized it immediately.
“If you disobey any of these instructions, I’ll put a bullet in her head. Do you understand?”, The threat continued.
Marcus’s face remained expressionless, but his mind was already racing. He knew he couldn’t take the man’s threat lightly. Whoever this person was, he had clearly planned everything carefully. Marcus finally gave a slight scoff and nodded.
“Okay. You have my word.”
“Good.” The stranger paused for a moment. “Then start moving,Now, don’t stop at anywhere, keep just coming down straight here, remember, we have our eyes on you.”
The call ended.
Marcus lowered the phone and stared at the screen for several seconds. The thing was, Natalie just called her that he had to come as soon as possible because of this mysterious Jackosn, and now this.
He flagged a taxi. He sighed as soon as he entered. He decided to call Natalie and tell him what’s happening.
.Then he remembered the stranger’s warning.
Don’t press your phone. Don’t contact anyone.
Marcus glanced at the driver through the rearview mirror. He didn’t know whether the man was involved or whether someone was actually watching him. For all he knew, the driver could be one of the people working for the mysterious caller.
He kept his phone in his pocket. Whatever happened, he wasn’t going to risk Julia’s life just to contact Natalie. He would deal with the situation himself.
The taxi eventually dropped him off near the location he had been given. Marcus stepped out and looked ahead.
A large factory stood in the distance, its massive structure dominating the otherwise quiet area. It appeared to have been recently completed, but there was hardly anyone around.
Marcus started walking toward it. His phone suddenly rang. The anonymous number.
He picked it up immediately.
“You’re doing good,” the voice said. “I can see you now. Enter slowly.”
Marcus glanced around, trying to determine where the caller was watching from. He followed the

instruction and walked through the entrance.
Where the fuck are you?” Marcus demanded.
“Calm down”
Before Marcus could say anything else, two men suddenly emerged from inside the factory. They were both dressed in dark clothing and immediately moved toward him.
Marcus stopped. The stranger’s voice came through the phone again.n”I’m watching you right now, so don’t try anything funny.”
Marcus stared at the two men.
“They’re going to sedate you with an injection. Don’t fight it.”
Marcus’s eyes narrowed. “Don’t be ridiculous.”
“If you resist, we’ll shoot your girlfriend.” The caller again.
Marcus’s expression immediately hardened.nHis phone buzzed. A message had arrived.
He opened it and saw a photograph of Julia still inside the store, completely unaware that she was being
watched.
Marcus stared at the picture for several seconds.
He slowly lowered the phone.
“Fine.” 1
