Chapter 201
Marcus groaned as consciousness slowly returned to him.
His entire body felt heavy and sluggish. His arms and legs were stiff, and a dull ache ran through his muscles. He tried to move, but something was holding him firmly in place.
His eyes snapped open. Marcus immediately looked around and realized he was tied to a chair. Thick restraints held his arms against the sides of the chair, while his legs were bound tightly enough that he could barely move them.
His breathing became heavier as he tried to shake off the grogginess. There was a man standing directly in front of
him.
The man appeared to be in his mid-fifties, with streaks of gray running through his dark hair. He wore an expensive-looking suit and stood calmly, as though he had all the time in the world.
Behind Marcus stood another man. Marcus’s eyes shifted toward him. His expression instantly changed.
He recognized him.
The second cultivator who had been involved in the murder of his father.
Marcus’s eyes narrowed as he stared at him. His hands instinctively tightened against the restraints.
Behind Hades stood a group of men dressed like ordinary thugs. Some carried metal rods while others had weapons tucked into their clothing. They stood around the room, watching Marcus carefully.
The older man noticed Marcus looking around. A faint smile appeared on his face.
“Hmm. You’re finally awake.”
Marcus ignored the man’s words for a moment. His gaze remained fixed on Hades.
Then he looked back at the older man. “Who are you?”
The man chuckled softly. “Well, I suppose introductions are in order.”
He took a few steps closer. “I am the man whose plans you’ve been delaying for quite some time.”
Marcus frowned.
The man’s expression became colder.
“You’ve caused me quite a bit of trouble. You interfered with my project, and made me scuffle with the police. you also stopped the construction project, and, most importantly, you killed one of my most loyal fighters. six”
Marcus’s eyes narrowed. if this man is Six boss and this second cultivator boss. Then it means he was the mastermind he had been looking for.
The one behind his father’s death, his blood started boiling. So he closed his eyes deep and summon the energy inside his bead, so he could untie himself. He focused his mind and attempted to call upon his cultivation energy. But nothing happened.
Marcus frowned. He tried again but stll nothing.
His expression finally changed.

Something was wrong.
The older man noticed immediately and smiled. “Don’t bother.”
Marcus opened his eyes.
The man folded his arms. “What we injected into you was a special serum. It temporarily suppresses your cultivation power. For the next eight hours, you won’t be able to use any of your abilities.”
Marcus’s jaw tightened. Eight hours. That was more than enough time for these people to kill him.
Before Marcus could respond, another voice came from behind him.
“I would advise you not to try anything clever.”
Hades stepped forward.
His expression was cold and emotionless.
“We still have our eyes on your girlfriend, Julia. Remember that. If you try anything stupid, she dies.”
Marcus felt genuinely vulnerable. His cultivation power was gone. And Julia’s life was being used as leverage against him.
There was nothing he could do. The older man stepped forward again.
“Now, Marcus, I don’t want this to end badly. So for introduction, My name is Jace”.
Marcus just stared coldly at him.
“I actually admire your skills. You managed to kill Six, something very few people could accomplish. That tells me you’re far more capable than I originally thought.”
He paused. “So I’m willing to give you one more chance to live. Join me.”
Marcus’s eyebrows lifted slightly.
The man continued. “Work for me, and I’ll make sure you’re rewarded handsomely. You won’t have to worry about money again. How does three hundred thousand a month sound?”
Marcus stared at him in disbelief.
The older man smiled. “You’re talented. I’m not interested in wasting talent. Work under me, and you’ll have money, protection, and access to resources that will help you grow even stronger.”
Hades expression immediately darkened.
“Boss. He killed six. we are supposed to finish him right now. Also, he doesn’t look like someone who you can control. just let us kill him sir”.
Mr. Jace immediately raised a hand, stopping Hades from saying anything further.
“You don’t understand,” Jace said calmly. “Like you said, he’s just a poor, low-level man who was divorced by his wife. He needs money badly. People like him would do anything for money. Right?”
Hades remained silent, though his expression showed that he wasn’t convinced.
Jace turned his attention back to Marcus.

“I’ll raise the offer. Five hundred thousand dollars.”
Marcus’s eyes narrowed.
His blood was already boiling, but hearing Jace speak so casually about buying him only made his hatred grow
stronger.
“I will collect nothing,” Marcus said coldly. “To have your guts spilled all over this floor.”
Hades immediately scoffed. “I told you.”
