Chapter 208.
ry’s face inunediately twisted with rage.
“How dare you slap me?”
He stepped forward and raised his hand, intending to slap Natalie back.
But before he could do anything, Marcus caught his wrist.
Cory’s eyes widened.
“What the fuck? Let me go!”
Marcus tightened his grip.
“You should be grateful she only slapped you.”
Cory struggled against him, but Marcus didn’t release him.
Julia frowned deeply.
“Cory, are you crazy right now? You deserved to be slapped even worse! I don’t know what happened to you. You’ve completely changed.”
Cory’s breathing gradually slowed.
He looked around the lobby and realized everyone was staring at him. The anger in his face slowly disappeared, replaced by embarrassment.
He pulled his hand away from Marcus and straightened his clothes.
“Fine.”
He tried to act calm, but his face was still burning with humiliation.
Just then, a man approached from across the lobby.
Cory recognized him immediately.
His expression changed.
It was Mr. Robert, one of Langstone’s senior executives.
Cory instantly became nervous.
He knew Mr. Robert had considerable influence within the company. In fact, Cory had previously tried to contact him several times after his dismissal, hoping he could help convince the other executives to reconsider.
Cory quickly forced a smile.
“Hey, Mr. Robert. It’s you.”
Mr. Robert barely looked at him.
“What a coincidence seeing you here.”
Cory laughed awkwardly.
“I was actually hoping to-”

Mr. Robert walked straight past him.
Cory’s smile froze.
The executive stopped in front of Natalie instead.
“Ma’am, you haven’t left yet?”
Natalie glanced at him.
“I was about to. But before I could leave, this man decided to call me some very unpleasant names”
Mr. Robert’s expression immediately became serious.
“Really? Who?”
He glanced toward Cory.
“You mean Cory?”
Cory’s heart sank.
He stared at the two of them.
Then his eyes widened.
“Wait… did you just call her ma’am?”
Mr. Robert looked at him as though the question were obvious.
“Yes. Ma’am.”
He turned toward Natalie respectfully.
“She is the COO of Langstone.”
The words hit Cory like a hammer.
His entire body went stiff.
“The… COO?”
He looked at Natalie.
For several seconds, he couldn’t say anything.
She was the woman he had just insulted.
The same woman who could have a direct influence on whether he ever returned to Langstone.
Cory’s mouth opened slightly. “Really? She’s the COO?”
Natalie stepped forward. “Yes. I am.”
Cory swallowed hard.
His mind went completely blank.
For days, he had been begging Langstone to give him another chance. He had recorded an apology video and tried everything he could think of to convince the company that he still had value.

And now, after all that effort, he had managed to insult one of the most powerful people in the company.
As pride told him not to apologize.
But common sense was screaming at him to do exactly that.
“Ma’am, I-” Natalie raised her hand, stopping himn.
“Don’t.”
Cory fell silent.
She looked at him coldly. “You don’t need to explain yourself”.
Cory lowered his head slightly. He wanted to kneel down with how desperate he need the partnership, but he didn’t know want to drop his ehgi.
Natalie stepped closer.
“And next time you obstruct my way, insult me, or cause trouble for me, I will make sure you regret it forever” Then Natalie made her way out, Mr. Robert followed.
Cory standing frozen in the middle of the lobby.
He watched them disappear through the entrance.
His heart sank.
The partnership he had been desperately trying to recover suddenly felt even further away.
Meanwhile, Marcus turned toward Julia.
“Tonight, right?”
Julia smiled. “Yeah. Tonight.”
Marcus nodded.
Marcus followed Natalie out of the hotel.
Julia watched them leave before turning back toward the lobby.
She still believed Marcus was simply an ordinary Langstone employee who had happened to come to the hotel with Natalie for a work-related.
Meanwhile, Julia turned toward Cory.
Her expression was filled with disappointment.
“Cory, I’m honestly so disappointed in you.”
Cory’s eyes widened. “Julia, wait!”
