chapter 37
Wilson’s face tightened as if refusing what his eyes had just seen.
“There is no way,” he muttered. “There is absolutely no way you could own a card like that.”
Ivana folded her arms and spoke quickly. “Wait. What if he stole it? You know premium black cards don’t need a PIN to pay. You can just swipe and go.”
Marcus gave a short scoff. “Anyone who owns a card like this has a banking app that can block it instantly. If it was stolen it would have been deactivated long ago.”
Ivana went quiet. She knew he was right, and the silence from her side said more than words.
Marcus turned his eyes to Wilson. “So kneel down and let us do what we agreed on.”
Whispers broke out around the table.
“Is he serious?”
“Is he really going to pour wine on Wilson?”
“Does he even know who Wilson is?”
Wilson laughed coldly. “What if you stole it recently? And you think I will actually kneel down for you like a fool?”
Marcus kept his voice calm. “Isn’t that what we bet on? Or are you backing out now?”
Wilson’s jaw tightened. “I can swear you stole that card.”
Julia spoke up before Marcus could reply. “You made a bet. You bragged and mocked him. Now you lost and you’re backing out like a coward.”
Wilson turned sharply to her. “Watch how you talk to me. You this bitch.”
Julia did not move. “You are nothing but a thug. You’ve been a bully since school and you still haven’t changed.”
This made Wilson angry. He stepped forward and raised his hand to slap her.
Before his hand could land, Marcus caught his wrist mid-air.
Wilson’s eyes widened. “What the heck are you doing? Let me go!”
Marcus didn’t speak. He simply tightened his grip and twisted one of Wilson’s fingers.
Crack.
A small sharp sound cut through the room.
Wilson screamed. “My finger! What the hell!”

Everyone jumped back in shock.
“What is Marcus doing?”
Marcus released him slowly. “That is for trying to hit Julia.”
Wilson staggered back, clutching his hand. His face turned red with fury. “Guys! Come in!”
The door burst open.
Seven men rushed into the room.
They moved fast and without hesitation. Each of them looked dangerous and several of them were holding knives.
Jessica’s face drained of color. “Wilson, you don’t have to escalate this. Let’s settle things peacefully.”
“Shut the hell up!” Wilson roared. “He twisted my finger and you think I will let him go? I swear I will kill him if possible. Unless he apologizes properly!”
Jessica turned to Marcus desperately. “Marcus, please apologize to him.”
Marcus looked at her with disbelief. “Why should I? He was wrong. He couldn’t accept defeat and now
he’s acting like a child.”
Jessica sighed in frustration.
Wilson pointed at Marcus with his injured hand. “What are you all waiting for? I want his finger in front of
me!!!”
Chairs scraped loudly as people sprang to their feet.
A few of the guests rushed toward the corners of the room to watch from a distance while others ran for the door in panic. Glasses fell and shattered on the floor.
The seven men closed in around Marcus with their knives raised.
For a brief second Marcus understood something clearly. Even if he managed to fight them, he would be badly injured. There were too many of them and they were armed.
Then he felt it. A strange warmth spread from his wrist. it was coming from the bracelet his father gave
him.
A faint pulse moved through his arm and into his chest like a quiet surge of energy. His muscles felt lighter.
The first man lunged.
Marcus stepped aside smoothly and struck his wrist. The knife fell. A second strike to the chest dropped him to the ground.
Another rushed from the left. Marcus turned, grabbed his collar, and slammed him onto the table.

Bottles rolled and crashed to the floor.
Two came at the same time. Marcus moved between them with surprising speed. One received a sharp hit to the jaw. The other was kicked hard in the stomach and collapsed, gasping.
People screamed louder.
“What is happening!”
“Is he even human?”
A knife flashed toward Marcus again. He caught the attacker’s arm, twisted it, and sent him flying over a chair. The man hit the ground and did not get up.
Within seconds the room was chaos.
Marcus moved without hesitation. Every step was precise. Every strike landed cleanly. One after another the men fell to the ground groaning, clutching their arms, legs, or stomachs.
He did not look tired or break any sweat. and everyone was down!.
Travis stared with his mouth open. “What… what is that? Did Marcus just beat ten men with knives?”
The last man tried to run. Marcus grabbed him from behind and pushed him forward. He fell across the
broken glass and stayed there.
Silence slowly returned to the room except for the groans on the floor.
Wilson stood frozen.
Marcus turned and walked toward him.
